It was just bad basketball. Jacking up 3s with the shot clock winding down time after time. I think we hit 4 3s for the game after starting 2 for 2?
Crowd was pathetic, as well. Maybe 25-30% capacity.
Oh well, the kids had fun regardless.

How far we’ve fallen. Once proud program now getting shellacked by UCF at home to secure the 2nd losing season in 30 years

But we still have a “State of the art arena” and “Hall of Fame Coach” prices for season tickets and the same two clowns running the athletics department so all is well from their view.

When the boosters/fools that are still buying season tickets wake-up something might change. Until then why would Scottie be concerned? He makes lots of money and nobody that matters complains so……

Can Fudge transfer again?

He is absolutely awful.
He had an impressive putback dunk in December and everyone gushed about his athleticism. I assume that the folks in Baton Rouge were laughing their a$$es off at the time. He’s done next to nothing since then.

Fudge is the softest player I have ever seen in major college basketball.

Unfortunately, this may be the softest Florida team I have ever seen since I started following closely in 1980. I would like to say that Golden needs to toughen them up but it appears that the team is a reflection of the coach.

Kugel is a 1st round pick now as a freshman lol . Aleks is looking decent, and Aberdeen is much better. The ones that don't look better are the ones that suck from White or are 23+ years old

I agree

Kugel is a budding star and Aleks is a potential contributor along with Aberdeen (who played better than Lofton or Bonham mostly) as a backup point.

The rest of the team needs to seek a new destination. The downside is that Golden will bring in more mercenaries and it’s wash, rinse, and repeat.

I realize that college basketball is changing but everyone else in the SEC seems to have figured it out other than UF.

Does it even matter? NOTHING changes. We've become an overall athletic program that accepts mediocrity instead of being great. We were once a dominant and proud athletic program as a whole. But now we're more focused on diversity and wokeness and #MeToo and blah blah blah. I'm sorry, but I see no light. The long foreseeable future is a never-ending dark tunnel.

Your point is validated by the new mission statement the athletics department has now.

They used to say that we aspire to winning championships.

Now they say that we aspire to competing for championships. What a meaningless statement.

Losing by 20 at home to ucf in the first round of the nit is a terrible look. I don't care what was handed to Golden or if he lost his best player. This was a blackeye on his resume

The game last night had little to do with rosters and talent.
Johnny Dawkins had his team totally prepared to play while Golden’s guys were on spring break.

That's beyond dumb. Should say "beating bad gator teams and getting blown out by good ones." UCF will never win a championship in any major sport, all they will ever have are wins over power 5 schools when they are down.

Apparently neither will UF

I just watched the first half, and with or without Castleton, there was nothing that I saw that tells me that UF is well coached in anything. I don;t need ANAL-itics to tell me that passes are lazy or at poor angles, spacing is poor, #3 should be defending, rebounding and garbage, not jacking 3's, and there is way too much dribbling. And to here Mark Wise talk about UCF having movement off the ball, that is something that UF still has none of. Way too much standing and watching. And I said it almost a month ago that it is wasting time playing either of those 5's. They give you nothing or either end and are detrimental. Go "small", 5 out and instill movement. But clearly Golden Shower has no ANAL-itics for that. These coaches can only do one thing and if something interrupts their plans they just shyt the bed.
I concur with your anal-ysis

Not about being prepared. 80% of the team has already transferred or doesn't care and they are playing like it
I didn't know we went to the NIT. Why?

Went back to the first page; because if Lee's post is true (and I think we can all know it to be), then 46's question bears repeating.

That wasn't Gator Basketball.

It was an embarrassment top to bottom, in both halves. The players were disinterested & played without heart or personal pride.

It's a tournament elimination game at home in an official NCAA Competition.

Where is their pride? Their competitive spirit?
Don't they want even the chance to try and win it? Or failing in that, to at least make it to the semifinals? It's not like it's the greatest tournament to win, but it would still be a banner in the building and something to take personal and professional pride in.

And instead, they show up playing like that.
Lowest point total of the season; no spirited comeback attempt like they've had all year; and we were playing freaking UCF, not Bama or Kansas.

Good riddance to the 80% of the players who are leaving (and most should) if that's the effort they're going to put in at home in a tournament competition. I normally don't like to trash the players, but that was a disgusting performance and yes, going to say it: they played without pride or effort. They should all be embarrassed.

I’ve held my comments about what I’ve been seeing on the floor all season. Last night I reached my limit. Yes, I know losing our best player hurts. Yes, I know he’s “building”. But what I saw last night, on our home court no less, was hot garbage. I had to turn it off no even halfway through the second half to keep from bursting a vein in my head from the frustration.

I was told we should all be proud because we tried hard this season

So this was our 3rd? 4th? NIT since Billy left…I bet he never went to 3 NITs his whole coaching career…point being, I totally forgot we were even playing….that’s how disinterested and disengaged I have become with the basketball program and how far we have fallen….when BD was there, I would clear my schedule for Southeastern Louisiana type games…

If it was up to Scotty, he would have held onto Mike White for another 10 seasons.

At least you're still watching. Mike White killed my interest in Gator basketball and I watched about 15 minutes of them play this season. I'm not "proud" of it, just making a point that fan apathy is the worst thing that can happen to a team, far worse than fan frustration.
