We don’t know why he’s entering the portal. Maybe he was getting passed on the depth chart. Maybe his girlfriend dumped him. Maybe he’s skipped too many classes. Maybe it’s the vaccine. Maybe it’s not the vaccine. Maybe the cartel has found him. Maybe he’s pining for the fjords. Maybe he’s overwhelmed by the tragedy of existence.

We just don’t know.
Really good post; I hadn't considered the fjords angle.

I don't get it. How much weed do you have to be smoking in order to tear your labrum?

I get that the kid likes his weed, and therefore memory issues may ensue and meetings are not a good use of your time...but, I see homie hanging out at the vending machines 24/7 with Cheetos fingers and orange lips.

By Friday morning, that tweet was deleted, and it appears cooler heads have prevailed with Mazzccua planning to remain with the Gators — at least for now — according to multiple reports.

The NCAA last season created transfer portal windows; one opens at the end of the regular season with the other open May 1 after most teams have concluded spring practice. By announcing his intent to transfer on March 23, Mazzccua would have been sticking himself in limbo.

Whether he will ultimately decide to leave the program in May remains to be seen.

If Mazzccua was to seek a new destination, he would likely have to sit out a year, per NCAA rules, unless receiving a waiver from the organization.

Anybody subscribe to 247? I refuse to pay for their BS “inside” information…. Yet I wouldn’t mind reading their BS “inside” information. It’s quite a dilemma.

24/7 came with Paramount+… The not-worth-the-$ premium summary is he will miss the rest of the spring anyway due to surgery to repair a torn labrum, he deleted the tweet so no one knows if it was just a hot moment or what.

Paramount+ has several excellent shows btw. 1883, 1923, Tulsa King and Mayor of Kingstown - all by Taylor Sheridan.

He was the number 2 guard in the country last year for Baylor. He transferred to us to replace Torrence. Sale said he was an absolute monster in his presser. He was going to be starting in Torrance’s place.

This is a huge hit on the O line.

And it’s weird as hell.
Yes, why would he transfer due to injury? Stay here, heal then play. Why would another team take an injured player?

According to some, the staff sat down and worked out the grievances and he's staying

Ox after seeing this:

“Ohhhh, Mazzccua the stud from Baylor who’s definitely one of the best guards in the country. I thought y’all said Massbooya. Sure glad Billy is retaining him!!”

He deleted his tweet.

:rotfl:

Dude is a head case.
Honestly, the portal has probably changed the mindset of most players these days. Or maybe he really is a headcase, idk. Hopefully this all gets forgotten when he's busting holes wide open for Johnson and ETN.

Some inside notes I was reading said Shemar James has been the best linebacker by far. He played slower last year, trying to get up to the speed of the game and learning the playbook. Supposedly Burney and Miller said they were learning how to shed blocks from him last year.
