Wont lie, If ol boy wasnt a pedo id be telling many lies right now. Averaged like 12 yards a pass and made some very good throws. Son of a QB, kid been reading defenses since he could walk.

I have faith in Mertz, cant back it up why, just feel he cant be worse than what we had as a passer last season. Hand the ball to Trell/ETN and hit a PA pass once in a while

It isn't always the quarterback's fault, and esp when the quarterback in question averaged 6.3 a carry.

He broke big runs and mostly not by design… he ran when the coast was clear. Nothing wrong with that. I’m thinking of a 4th and short where the OL got tangled up and he was stopped at LOS. This staff needs much better plays ready this season. If that’s what they thought would work with a load like Richardson, and it didn’t, they hopefully realize that kind of BASIC scheme is not going to work with our lighter QBs this season.

How is this staff going to make up for the tremendous yards AR did carry for last season? That’s my question. There are only so many plays our top 2 RBs can account for. The pass game has to develop or we will be predictable and stuck often.

This penchant Coach has for being an OC on top of his many duties is bewildering since he’s not an experienced OC. I would be happy to learn he’s reached out for guidance. Why not bounce his philosophy off people like Spurrier and get some help with his pass scheme? Just my thoughts… have to know where you need help.

We didnt utilize much quick game with AR, Id like to think with more of a polished passer we'll implement that into the offense this season.

I would hope so but I have no confidence that will happen. With shyt WR's, shyt TE's and an awful throwing QB, what could be an easier pass play that isolating a good RB against a LB in space on an option route? The answer is nothing yet we saw that type of play a total of ZERO times last year. Inability to adjust or add or subtract plays from your arsenal is an epidemic in sports. This is what I do come helll or high water is how most coaches think.

We havent really seen his offense. His last QB at UL had over 2,900 yards (More than our QBs combined) with 4 wrs having over 300 yards. 6 wrs with over 18 catches. We had 3 wrs with over 300 yards and 3 with over 18 catches.
Billy runs pro concepts, this has already been documented. Too bad for him AR isnt exactly the passer you need to him to be in order to apply those concepts.

Again, this season will be the sample we didnt get

And if anyone thinks SOS isnt gonna hit up the HC if he sees faults when his office is across the hall.... Cmon lol

I cant imagine a guy like Billy who is all analytics based on his approach doesnt do some form of self scout

I am not disagreeing with per se especially regarding the TE, but I am confident in saying that Sling Blade does not have any plays where his RB's are the primary receiver isolated on a LB where the others clear out and you are looking for a good gain. Yes we have the RB screen (everyone does), RB's as check downs/ wheel routes and RB;s in flat for short yardage. All teams have that. But running the RB directly at the LB thru the line, squaring him up and shaking him to give the QB an easy throw was not part of the menu. Regarding Leach and Mumme you are correct but they come from the same line of thought and in that system RB's are a big part of the passing game beyond being used as outlets. Just ask coach OGRE.

Torrence made some plays at times and some of held a “potential upside” view of him. But Dean?I’m not sure his parents even watched the draft. He peaked as a Freshman and had one good play that also turned out to be his worst play. I can’t think of a single player that was less supported than him here.

Dean had an INT against fsu as a freshman. That’s the only good thing I remember. Now, bad memories are everywhere.

He also had a solid game against scUM in 2019 where he forced a fumble and had 1.5 sacks. Admittedly, I’m reaching here.

Somehow when a player whose main positions are CB, Nickel and/or safety and they are remembered for forcing a fumble or getting a sack/sacks, that does not seem to make for a stellar career.

Shockingly, Jacob Copeland didn't get drafted. The Titans just signed him as a free agent - we'll see if he can make the team.

Copeland (5’11/201) transferred to Maryland for his final year of college after playing four seasons at Florida. If the fifth-year senior could have had a re-do, he likely would have opted to remain at Florida, as his 2022 line (26-376-2) marked his lowest totals since 2019. An athletic receiver (8.16 RAS) with 4.42 speed, Copeland looks the part of an NFL receiver, but the on-field production was never quite there. Copeland averaged an underwhelming 4.3 YAC/REC for his career and caught just 33.3 percent of his contested targets. Coaches will love the potential he flashes as an athlete, but what he offers as a player leaves much to be desired. That said, if there's a weaker depth chart in the NFL for him to take a crack at, we haven't seen it.
