Sofla, didn't we go through this roller coaster with McElwain and Mullen, until both just stopped giving a schit.... Two years out, this is going to be a the greatest class ever, A year to signing, Look we are top 3 look at all the dudes that want to come here. Half-way through the season when they are really paying attention to the product on the field, we are still going to be top 5. After the season, well fuch top 20 again. We are going to be on this roller coaster for damn near a decade.

We keep on hiring the same type of jabronie and expecting different results. We might as well sign URG to be the basketball teams center, Sluggo to choose the female cheerleaders, and you to lead the anger management classes. They are about the same level of management failure.

Yes, but what actually makes this one worse is that in both of those cases the classes fell apart largely because the head coach at that time was being fired. It wasn’t going to be all world in either case, but It’s hard to say what would’ve stuck had wholesale changes not been made. I said a few pages back this is much closer to the ‘14 class where one by one all our big name players slipped away because of the disaster we’d put on the field. But even there I think we ended up higher than we will this go around, mostly because of the late flips of Powell and the completely unexpected Tabor flip from Arizona after his grandmother protested at the distance. I don’t see that happening this time. The fact that a coach is being retained and this is happening is almost unprecedented. But again, I’m not sure how much it matters who you land if you can’t keep them on campus. Contrary to the repeated posts of the last 24 months, there will be no “setting up the next guy”. Those days are over as the last week has born out.

I'm saying that this is the same roller coaster since 14, true it might reflect 14 the most... but same schit different year. I don't get excited about classes until they sign, so I'm not a person who follows it as much. But looking at the posting history on this board, the excitement level then we trail off.

Napier did put an emphasis on talent through recruiting, but this isn't like when he was recruiting UL where if you are at a school like that, there is limited places to go. And the landscape of college football has changed drastically since he did his section 8 rebuild at UL. Hopefully it changes, but that's like hoping that the Cowboys win another Divisional playoff game in my lifetime.

Mullen didnt "stop giving a schytt", he was always lazy. He never put any effort into recruiting and just grabbed low hanging fruit no one else wanted, didnt bother to game plan, relying instead on halftime adjustments (which he was actually pretty decent at doing) and was more than happy with a 4 loss season. His best season at Cowbell ended in a three game triple faceplant too. This wasnt something new.

I’ve reached the point that I’ve stopped caring about this class. It’s clearly not going to be very good, nowhere near what we’d thought, minus most of the stars we once heralded and will almost definitely rank worse than Mullen’s third class, which is hard to wrap my head around, but whatever. Very few of these players, were going to be impact players this season. It just would’ve provided a glimpse of hope for the future. At this stage, Napier is going to just have to prove that he’s an actual coach and win with what he has. Spare me the blame and talk of infrastructure, rebuild etc. He’s made choices, and will have to live with them, for better, or for worse. If he can’t, he will simply be fired as much of the talent issue that he will have this upcoming season will be completely self-inflicted. Win or kindly get the hell out.
Yes, gone downhill. With sMullenz it was because they didnt try, didnt even recruit Jax, which is a day trip with casinos and hoookers. With Bill, its the product on the field and the impression to any 17 year old with a brain- and we recruit smart athletes- that its off course.

Still cannot believe idiot box hosted a visitor that messaged his followers so condescendingly and our HC thought it was funny. Meyer, Spurrier, Shart or Saban would have sent him packing that minute. Any of us would have. “Awe shucks, we homies.”

With adding Taylor to the class we're back up to #5 and still >92 player avg.

Wait a minute. No one worth anything will ever go to Nebraska ever again...ever!

Or, maybe they hired a coach that can sell his brand as well as the tradition even though it has been a while. Wild.
