Sisters. I laughed. Hard. Loud. And at stuff the rest of the audience did not laugh at. I will watch this one again.

I still want to see Sisters but will probably wait until it's on DVD.

Forgot I saw this one... this was freakin' HILARIOUS. Hard to hear some of it since there were people around us laughing through the next dialogue.
If you liked the Flight of the Conchords - you will love Jemaine in this one.

The worst part about the Martian was the Ironman ending, which was also the biggest departure from the excellent book. In the book he suggested the ironman thing but they just laughed at him and told him to just sit there while they came and got him.

Most people don't find engineering exciting enough to enjoy the book probably. The book goes into far more detail about how and why he does everything. So many parts of the story had to be glossed over to make the movie not only a reasonable length but also understandable by enough people to make it popular.

This is a book I believe many folks would enjoy even after seeing the movie.

I tend to read more on current events, and not necessarily books, but this is one I may have to reconsider.

I highly recommend it. One of the best fiction books I've read.

The Big Short.

It's about the housing crisis and some of the guys who saw it coming. It was well executed and made some really dry stuff funny and really interesting. But it pissed me off all over again and had me kicking myself for not seeing it coming too. I remember getting a hinky feeling when the guy who cut my lawn was telling me about a $400,000 house he was looking to buy. All the signs were there, but like everyone else I listened to the "experts".

Anyway, great acting, informative and fast paced.

Saw Ride Along 2 yesterday with my son. Let him pick the movie. It was very funny and had lots of skin since it is set mostly in Miami.

Well there was a little movie called 2001: A Space Odyssey that nailed it. The Martian might have "tried" to get the science right but it missed on a few big things. But I've learned to suspend my disbelief in a sci-fi movie when my engineer brain kicks in with a WTF.

I love big budget sci-fi so for that reason it was worth the price of admission but Best Picture is a joke.
Interested to hear what some of the big misses were in the Martian.

The reason I can't watch Armegeddon, was in the middle of my dynamics class that semester I saw it... a group of us went to see it and my brain kicked off half way in. Spend the rest of the movie going "you got to be ****ing kidding me".

Kung Fu Panda 3D - seriously.
We took the boy on Sunday. My wife said she really liked it - I fell asleep; but from what I saw, it was okay. Seeing it in 3D was probably the best, but if your kids can wait, I'd recommend not shelling out the cash for the big screen and waiting on the DVD release.

Watched Avengers: Age of Ultron on Sunday... extremely underwhelming. The fun of the first one was drowned out in fight scenes that seemed long for the sake of being long. The CGI was over done.

What am I? Your own personal Google? Look it up Sunshine.
I'm asking what YOU think the big misses were. As good as Google is I doubt they know what your opinions are.

The wind/atmosphere is a good catch. There is some wind and atmosphere though but certainly not enough to blow a spaceship over. But enough blow lightweight stuff around. There are storms and the dust gets blown around, and limited visibility from dust is one of the challenges.

I think a tarp would flap around if there was wind. I didn't catch the plastic sucking inward on the HAB fix in the movie. And in the book, the ironman glove thing was suggested but immediately discounted as preposterous. One of the biggest disappointments of the movie really, there was no need for that type of hollywood ending.

The movie left a lot of stuff unexplained. I believe he talked about radiation a bit but I can't remember. The trek across the planet in the movie was presented as being a lot simpler than the one in the book. You can only get so in-depth and technical in a movie that lasts a couple hours.

The Revenant was really good but pretty long also. The down times of the movie made the action parts of the movie even better.

Sicario was decent. Del Toro was good in the movie, the rest were meh.

Vacation was funnier than I expected it to be. I thought it would just be down right stupid, but I got some good laughs out of it.
Vacation was one of the worst movies I've ever seen...god awful and possibly worse than anchorman 2

Just watched this movie today. Don't get to get out and enjoy a movie anymore but the wife and I had to see this one. Feel the exact same way you described. Why didn't I see that coming? All the signs were there and I sat there and took it along with the next guy.

Anchorman 2 was just awful. How they came up with that garbage after the classic Anchorman is just sinful.
