Yea sorry, a carburetor is a carburetor, doesn't matter what name is stamped on the side of it. Keep running old ethanol gas in it without cleaning or draining it and you'll be eating your words...

Did it for years with the last one. And 2 years with this one.

I got cute and bought a used mower before the new Honda. Damn things quit working after two mows. Sometimes I have to remind myself that there is also value in my time and convenience,
Jesus, I feel your pain. Old riding mower took a shyt last summer, so I decided to go cheap and buy a used mower from a guy off Facebook. $150.

Mowed with it twice, the coil went out. Fixed that, then the valves needed adjusting. Did that then one of the deck pulleys went bad so I replaced that.

Parked it for the winter. First time I mowed with it this summer, the belt broke. Replaced that, then bought a Cub Cadet from Home Depot when they were on sale.

Decent mower, but I don't care for the plastic/fiberglass hood.

I'm really not mechanically inclined at all. If the mower isn't working, I have to take it to somebody to fix it. Given that, I'd rather have one that is less prone to fall apart.

You know you do have to put gas in them

I do completely agree with Durty on this one. For our mowers that you run every week, the ethanol is probably not a big deal. I have put regular gas in mower for 7 years now, but it is ran for at least an hour every week of the year. The problem is the ethanol is hydroscopic, pulls in water, and totally destroys any equipment that sits idle. Lawncare guys are ok, because they use their equipment all day long every day, constantly putting in fresh gas. Your two month break is right at the limit.

Where us home guys get really screwed is in all the side equipment that might get used once a month. Your weed eaters, edgers, etc. I would highy, highly, highly recommend you put trufuel into those. Ethanol free. 93 octane. Already pre-mixed with oil. (just make sure you get the correct mixture for your brand equipment)

I know I don't live on acres, like some of us here, but my weed eater, edger and blower get used every time I mow.

Or put a couple drop of Stabil or Startron in your gas....Works like a charm on my generator and used it in my flats boat for 10 years....never a problem.

This was the best thing I ever did to keep my weedeater working.

Those things are slightly more useful than a pair of scissors. I typically only see little old ladies using them because the gas powered scare them.

I use mine to edge and weedwhack. It's a champ. Same one for ten years.

Got a bunch of Weekend Lawn Warriors in here. Bet they drink an ice cold Summer Shady once they complete their yard whacking.

My lawn guy mows and edges. I generally do the shrub trimming with a battery-powered hedge trimmer - works great. I used to use those electric ones that plug in, but you'd always end up cutting the cord right in half.

That happened to me once when I was 13. The cord got stuck in the trimmer and the jolt threw me across the yard. I swore then when I got older and bought my own it would be a gas powered unit, and I still have one and love it.

I'm sitting here in the a/c drinking a big glass of iced tea watching the ass hole next door mowing his lawn. It must be 110 out there.
