It makes no sense at all. If anything, you'd think Kiffin would land another head coaching gig. He stuck around for a 3rd year at Alabama because it boosts his head coaching prospects. It would be a hell of a hire for LSU, but it seems like a demotion for Kiffin....especially going against Bama annually (imagine if they lose or the O gets shut down by Bama. It would lower his stock significantly). Also, if Kiffin returns to Bama he will have the same QB for the first time since he's been there, which has to be exciting for an OC.

This was said on Saturday as part of Oregon's plan to have an upgraded staff. He was going to get Sarkisian as well

Do you mean Steve Sarkisian? I would think that Sark is probably the next in line at Bammer to be OC. That was a calculated addition.

I agree and don't think it will happen, but how much fun would it be! That LSU vs. Bama game would be more intense... and maybe just maybe Kiffin doesn't like working for Saban and this is a chance to work with somebody he likes.

Kiffin leaving tells you all you need to know about working for Saban. I'll bet it's hell.

yes, thanks for the correction... Oregon according to reports said he would get both on his staff (which I think is BS).

Kiffy realizes that he's not head coaching material. After being publicly berated by Saban he'd love nothing more than to beat him. Teaming up with a good head coach in fertile recruiting grounds is just what the doctor ordered. And I'm talking about Miles @ Florida not Oh Face at LSU.

The second Sark was added to Saban's staff I thought...well, there's a damn good back up plan if Kiffin goes sideways. Sark is a damn good OC. Rich staying rich over in Birmingham.

I'd take Kiffin as HC, no matter what you think about Mac you know in your heart Kiffin would be an upgrade. I'm sure working under Saban is hell but it's hell with results, why leave that unless you're getting a HC job?

Good Lord, man, how could not working for tbe world's worst boss and moving to a position with the dude with whom you used to go to college parties and bang coeds with NOT make sense?

That being said, Half Kiff is the SEC equivalent of the Clap, something you are likely to get if you are too desperate... and you will definitely regret later.

Will Lame take Saban's daughter with him when he leaves, or is this his chance to escape the family?

Looks like coach O is trying to put that "USC connection" back together. Only way to out recruit Bama is to have a staff equally as dirty or have one dirtier. Those 3 plus Corey Raymond would be 4 of the best/dirtiest recruiters in the game...that's for sure!
