Iowa has had a strange season. They seemed to start playing a lot better down the stretch. Lost to North Dakota St., barely beat Rutgers, and got monkey stomped by PSU, but also gave Wisconsin everything they could handle, beat Michigan, and housed Nebraska.

Technically, when used that way they are called suspension points. Ellipsis are what you call them when they are used for omitted information such as at the beginning of a quote.
