Mac's 3* defense is better than Meyer's 4.5* defense and if you interchanged Tebow and Franks, this year's offense would be better than Meyer's with Franks at quarterback.
Thanks. I appreciate it. But since the 2017 defense continues to improve, I think saying this year's is better is reasonable. Switching Tebow and Franks would make a big difference, but it might not be quite that big. Frankly I am a bit surprised at the 2007 offense. I simply remember Timmy plowing into the line again and again keeping drives alive. Here we go:
2007 Offense: # 14 ranking in yards/game, 457 yards/game average
2017 Offense: # 106 ranking in yards/game, 351 yards/game average
The # 14 offense in 2017 has a 491 yards/game average
2007 Defense: # 32 ranking in yards/game, 348 yards/game average - the median offense in 2007 gained 394 yards a game
2017 Defense: # 41 ranking in yards/game, 355 yards/game average - the median offense in 2017 gained 403 yards a game
The big difference between the 07 defense and the 17 defense so far is how the yards are distributed. The 17 defense is giving up a lot bigger ratio of rushing yards compared to passing yards which I think most people consider to be a bad thing for a defense overall.
Remember Tim is playing for 2017.Can you imagine a game between Meyer's 07 team and this one? it would be 49-0 at best, the 07's might break 70.
No. Read the original post. He should have recruited a good QB. Also, I should have mentioned as another poster did, that special teams in 2017 are abysmal.
Let's stop beating around the bush to what your point is. Are you trying to convince us Mac is a good coach?
Uh, you do realize that Tebow won the Heisman that year, right?Frankly I am a bit surprised at the 2007 offense. I simply remember Timmy plowing into the line again and again keeping drives alive.
I’m afraid ancient is losing it.Uh, you do realize that Tebow won the Heisman that year, right?
Of course! That is why switching him would greatly hurt the2007 offense and greatly help the 2017 offense. That was the interesting aspect of the original post. Are you guys reading or just reacting?Uh, you do realize that Tebow won the Heisman that year, right?

No longer angry, but it was a sad oversight by the coaching staff.Putting Tebow in the same sentence as Franks sorry ass is a real shame . I gotta give ancient credit for one thing though . He damn sure isn't shy about driving his point home. Seven years later he is still pissed Ronald Powell didn't take snaps at tight end.
Hate to quote myself, but that wasn't correct. Only fifty yards per game? You wouldn't even have to switch Tim. Just let him play for the 2017 team and he would add more than fifty yards per game. The 2017 team would win offense and defense losing only special teams.Thanks. I appreciate it. But since the 2017 defense continues to improve, I think saying this year's is better is reasonable.
