3 mil for Frost ain't happening. It will be north of 4 and Stricklin better be prepared to spend more than that on assistants.

I would be disappointed if we did this, lost Corral and the great class and then didn't get Fields.

Do you think we keep Corral either way with a Kelly or Frost hire?

I didn’t get the impression he wanted to be in a shotgun spread option offense.

I think it depends on conversations between Corral and the new coach.

Good info on Frosts possible D.C./his current D.C.

https://florida.247sports.com/Board...efensive-Coordinator-Erik-Chinander-109749265

Read it before Goldkamp flips the **** out and makes it VIP
I have no idea if Frost will keep Shannon or bring his DC, Chinander, from UCF or hire someone else entirely, but since we have at least a month to wait for an announcement and we already know everything there is to know about Frost, I figured I would start to look at his staff at UCF, assuming he may want to bring some of them to UF if Frost gets the job.

Below are some links to some good articles on Erik Chinander, UCF’s DC.

*UCF has the 25th ranked defense based on 19.7 points allowed per game. (UF is ranked 66th)

UCF’s other impressive defensive stat rankings:

* #33 Total yards per game

* #4 Turnover margin

* #5 Defensive TD’s scored

* #12 Interceptions

Chinander was the LB coach at Oregon for 7 years before joining Frost’s staff at UCF.

Chinander has been on staffs with Frost for the past 9 seasons at UCF, Oregon, and Northern Iowa.

He has experience coaching DL, OL, LB, TE, and now as DC at UCF for the past 2 seasons.

He was a walk-on offensive lineman for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

I have no idea how he is as a recruiter, but I know he has done one hell of a job as DC at UCF.

If Frost were to bring him to UF, I think it’s more likely he would assume a role as a defensive position coach.

Might want to include that the guy has them at 62nd in Defensive S&P+ this year. Not really a ringing endorsement.

Odds released on next Florida Gators football coach

http://www.onlygators.com/10/31/2017/odds-released-on-next-florida-gators-football-coach/

Without further ado, here is where they stand (via BetOnline.ag) upon opening on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

Dan Mullen +350
Scott Frost +700
Mike Norvell +700
Dino Babers +800
Bob Stoops +800
Matt Campbell +800
Jeff Brohm +800
Chad Morris +800
Willie Taggert +900
Chip Kelly +1000
Mike Gundy +1400
Randy Shannon +1400
Charlie Strong +2000
Lane Kiffin +5000
Urban Meyer +20000
Steve Spurrier +20000
Tim Tebow +30000

In terms of best bets, Campbell (+800) and Taggert (+900) offer tremendous value. There’s really no good reason not to put a couple bucks on Spurrier (+20000) — because you never know — but taht’s probably where the value stops.

again with the good odds of Mullen... seriously, the alumni would freaking revolt.

Mullen does NOT meet the criteria that Stricklin outlined in his presser.. at ALL. So either he knows better, or he's setting up to make one of the least popular hires since Zook.. and that's saying something.

Hell, he stopped just short of calling Mullen a prick at the press conference. It was clear he couldn't stand the guy. There's nothing to worry about on that front.

Did they not watch Stricklin's presser? I thought he made it fairly clear Mullen was off the table.

Frost makes a base of 2 mil a year. Give him 3 mil and take the other 1.5 mil (Mac's difference) add it to the asst salary pool / recruiting budget and lets roll. I would take Chip Kelly but, Im more interested in having a young hungry coach to build our program.

Go Gators!!!
Its notnusuallyntje way it works on multiple fronts:

First Frost' next salary will depend on how many teams are vying for him and he seems to be in great demand.

Seocnd, the salary pool for the assistants generally seems to roughly add up to what you pay the HC coach.

Something to break up the monotony, the fans here in Knoxville think they are getting Gruden based souly on the fact that his in-laws on land in Jefferson County ( close to Kville) and that his wife went to school at EWt. :giggle:

Frost isn't coming for 3 million a year. Supply and demand. 4.5 million is more realistic.

UCF would match that in a heart beat and raise you. We better open the old check book and do it ASAP. You know some school will.
We really need to be smart and act fast.

Not so sure UCF would pony up that kind of money. I know he has put them back in the national spotlight but, Herman was the first to make 3 million per season. Tuberville made 2.2 million per season. I would say UCF may go 3.5 million maybe. Going to be fun to see all this play out. I bet its 4 or 4.5 to get Frost here.
