After guess-timating the number of women he’s been with at “10,000, maybe,” he says of monogamy: “I probably took it real serious for about a day. ... I mean, I tried, but it just – I was miserable.

Flair, on his initial visit to a sports psychologist, back in the 1980s: “(He asked) ‘How much do you drink a day?’ I said, ‘I’ll drink at least 10 beers, and probably five mixed drinks.’ He said, ‘Well, how many days a week do you do that?’ I said, ‘Every day.’ He said, ‘Well, how do you mean every day?’ I said, ‘I work every day. I drink a beer in the car, I get to the hotel and I drink vodka.’ He came out of his chair and (he said), ‘You drink every day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, and you’ve been doing that for how long?’ I said, ‘Well, let me see. It’s 1989, I started in ’72, you do the math. Almost 20 years.’ He said, ‘That’s not possible.’ I said, ‘Oh yeah, it is.’ By the time I got through with that son of a b----, he was laying on the couch and I was on the chair talking to him.”

I love flair. Very stoked for the the 30 for 30 tonight.
I hear they're going to be interviewing his liver. Word is it doesn't have a lot of nice things to say about the Nature Boy.

Former wrestler “Baby Doll” (Nickla Roberts), on Flair’s drinking: “There was hardly a day that he went without having at least several drinks. You can be an alcoholic and be fully functional. I never saw him show up at the show inebriated, but Flair could drink. How he still has a liver, I don’t know.”

There is a great picture of him with Bates and Wright following the Sugar Bowl MNC against FSU but I can't post it.

My dad sat next to him on a plane from San Diego to ATL when I was about 8 years old. They talked the whole way and he gave my dad and an autograph for me. I still have it in a box with some baseball cards and stuff.

Fake news.

Ric only flies on Lear Jets. Not in coach like commoners. Your pops forgot to get you a last-second gift from the airport gift shop so he faked a Ric Flair (WOO!) autograph.

Sorry to ruin your childhood.

When Flair came to Tulsa with WCW in '98 or '99, I went into a bar across from the arena that they had just wrestled in and had him sign the back of my Big Poppa Pump figure. He looked at me and saw that I was wearing a Gators hat and then signed for me.

That's true. And even if he decided to fly with the common folk he'd be flanked by blonde double d's on both sides on the plane. Durtys dad probably carried Flairs luggage from the airport

Why can't you post it Alex? Also, was proud to be in the crowd at Mania 24 to see his last match. No, I don't acknowledge anything after that.

Flair and Spurrier are tight, he was a big time Gamecocks supporter when SOS was there. Met him one time at a Hooters in Charlotte, super nice and the Nature Boy gimmick was straight up real, he walked out with a brunette on each arm.

Seeing Tully Blanchard preach while a student at Gardner-Webb was flat out weird. Good message, but strange as heck to have over 2/3rds of the people in the chapel to hear him stand up and flash 4 fingers in the air when he was introduced.

Was that the one in orlando? I was there for that too. I remember when they were shooting off fireworks at the top of the citrus bowl they apparently burnt people up in the nosebleeds

If you guys have iphones, there's the podcast app and Tony Schiavone has a weekly podcast called What Happened When, going back over his time in WCW, and territorial wrestling and he's got some really good stories about Flair.
