Take it or leave it...

I heard from my source today (yeah... we all got one... I know) who is a good friend and very reliable. I am going to keep the details on this vague out of respect for my friend, but what he told me is that he works with a former Longhorn player who knows Scott Frost and apparently Frost is not interested in the job at UF. He thinks the facilities are old and it is a pressure cooker and does not feel it is a good fit...

Frost also has choice, at least 5 P5 schools have already contacted him as of Tuesday... that includes us and Nebraska from what I have heard.

So what we have here are about 40 different and completely conflicting stories all from supposed sources. Which of course makes each and every one of them suspect.

That said, keep 'em coming, people!

I wouldn’t doubt it. The reality is that UF is a top 5 job, especially when they get new facilities. It is the best school with the most fan support in the state with arguably the best HS talent. To fail at UF as bad as the two “M’s” have is amazing

Don't disagree, but if you feel you don't fit the culture it makes it a rough employment. This might be Frost's only shot at a big paycheck, I'm sure the dollar amount will go up. It all depends on risk/reward... at what point does risk outweigh reward, and at what point is it for other schools. Nebraska is the wild card, because family (3 gen Husker) and desperation (Huskers want to be relevant) make people make stupid decisions.

IF this is true about Frost, then we don’t want him anyway. Sounds like he’s scurred.

That said, I definitely doubt this latest rumor.

I don’t think anything is a done deal yet. I think we are still gauging interest of numerous coaches. Not because we haven’t advanced with Frost or Norvell, but because you need to cultivate options. I think Frost is a good fit, but if he doesn’t think so, you have to go to plan B and then maybe C. I think if Frost and Norvell pass, then you pay up to Stoops as a stop gap. Let him fix the culture and start the hiring process again in 5-6 yrs.

Leave it.

I'm betting Frost is intelligent enough not to discuss this with a former Longhorn player. (Now I have to replace the fuse on my BS meter.)

Absolutely agree... I have been saying all along I want somebody who is going to come and embrace the pressure and culture at UF. Urban Meyer is getting grilled at Ohio State because of two losses... it is no different there. Could you imagine what the fans would be like if Saban lost two games at Alabama? The top schools expect to win. They pay coaches a lot of money so they can win. If you don't want the pressure... don't take $6 million dollar contract.

I have to agree with NoTrainJay26 here. If the guy is not ALL in, then he's not THE guy. I want Frost more than anyone, because I believe he is the guy who could right this ship. But if isn't 100% committed to the Gator Nation, then he isn't going to lead us to said promised Land. To paraphrase Revenge of the Nerds, he's gotta want it!

The guy coaches at UCF but finds UF's resources unacceptable. Sorry, don't buy it.

I just can’t imagine that both Frost and Norvell would turn us down, that would be an embarrassment in my opinion. We got a head start on everyone, we better land a damn good coach.

We will. This is going to be a huge turnaround moment for the Florida football program. You just wait and see.
