"Sources tell me that Kelly wants more money up front and less in incentives. Where these negotiations are taking place and where the negotiations currently sit is being kept private by the two camps, and quite frankly I’m not even sure I want to know where the discussions currently sit. It’s not even known if these discussions are taking place in person or via a conference call, contrary to what the fan base’s super sleuths have told you from watching a live feed of Gainesville Regional airport, and there’s still no timetable for when (or if, yes, we’re still in the stage where if has to be included in this statement) a deal could be signed by."

This article from IAKOW founder Neil Shulman discusses the point that negotiations might be getting sticky on the money side, and not so much on the facilities.

So Mac scouted every single player we went after and only wanted the 3 *s? I highly highly highly doubt that. Now it could be his schedule that we recruited on, but we still went after elite guys and didn’t land any of them. Ever. On the defensive side of the ball. At the end of the day the recruiter needs to close and we didn’t have any closers that were worth a damn.
Agree, it's ridiculous to think RS had 4-5* DT, Safeties and MLB lined up and Mac was like, "no, bring me more 3 * DE's and corners."

And I'm not so sure Shannon did such a great job recruiting at scUM either. Their thug life and Nevin Shapiro's money, cocaine, and hookers recruited for him. And the fact that it happened under Shannon's watch isn't exactly a glowing recommendation. Even if he was smart enough to distance himself from Shapiro, he wasn't strong enough to squash it.

Shannon is a helluva nice guy, seems to be honest, and has a strong interest in helping players develop and succeed as student athletes, and probably is a knowledgeable position coach, but he has no passion at all. He is the least fiery defensive coach I've even seen. I can't remember ever seeing him showing intense emotion to players, refs, the fans, the press, etc.

I really don't see a lot of upside in keeping him so hope you are right about him possibly getting a D/C offer and taking it. We need type A intense coaches and recruiters across the board and that isn't RS.

Ida know, sir. I’ve kinda forgotten what that’s like. Looking over a Master Chief’s shoulder is hazardous for any O6 and below.

You've got that right. My first duty was always commitment to mission and welfare of crew, but I did get a thrill out of making O5s shake and spit from time to time...

Google it.

It's the highest ranking Enlisted rank in the seagoing services of the US Navy and US Coast Guard (an E9 pay grade).

Meh ... I'll pass. Retired Army CW3 ... I probably would flip a master chief off and tell them go eat a box of c0cks

Something is up, cause usually on Thursday mornings around the time I’m taking my kids to school, I always hear Spurrier on XM radio as a guest and he wasn’t on there this morning. He’s been on there every Thursday during the season as far as I remember and he wasn’t on there this morning, so I guess he had something come up.
Spurrier is on Full Ride on Tuesdays not Thursdays.

Serious question for whoever is in the know:

Is the news reportedly supposed to break on Friday or is the press conference supposed to happen on Friday? Or both?

Well it’s not my rules here it’s ox’s and I respect his rules.

I agree with that. Just my opinion that if you can't tell where it's from, nothing wrong in my opinion in posting it.

Sounds like you two are in agreement....let's get a legal opinion before moving any further....where's Rog?

That guy is one of the biggest idiots on Twitter. He doesn’t know anything. In fact – the one thing that he takes credit for is breaking the suspension news. Which he got from our board.
