We need a running list of coaches fired, even "maybe" firings predicted. This will set some perspective to it all.
Pitch in :

1) UF ... McElwaned ... (prediction = all of Mac's crew?)
???

PS>> Not to be cluttered = minimal writing and keep the list "running" #1,#2 #3 etc.

I'll try to keep a running thread of all coaching moves this off-season, please feel free to add to this. Once again, there will be a lot of moves this off-season. I'm curious to see if anyone hires Greg Nord, Butters, or Nussmeir....

-----

UCLA:
Per the contract of offensive coordinator / interim head coach Jedd Fisch, his deal will expire 30 days following the hiring of a new head coach, due to Jim Mora’s firing Sunday. Fisch will not be owed a buyout, but should receive a $156,000 retention bonus on Dec. 15.

Florida: The Gainesville Sun’s Robbie Andreu reports six Florida officials met with Chip Kelly in New Hampshire on Sunday, including athletic director Scott Stricklin, but there is no agreement. The officials returned to Florida on Sunday night.

Delaware State: Head coach Kenny Carter will not return. Carter was 3-30 in three seasons and is in the last year of his contract.

Tennessee: Butch Jones has been fired. Brady Hoke will serve as interim until a replacement is hired.

Tennessee Tech: Head coach Marcus Satterfield has been fired. Satterfield went 6-16 in two seasons.

Alabama A&M: Head coach James Spady has been fired. Spady went 15-30 in four seasons.

Northwestern State (La.): Head coach Jay Thomas will not return next season. Thomas went 21-36 in five seasons and is in the last year of his contract.

Portland State: Defensive coordinator Malik Roberson has been fired. Roberson spent three years on staff. The Vikings went 0-11 this season, allowing a program-record 43 points per game.

Georgia Southern: Tyson Summers has been dismissed, Chad Lunsford will serve as interim.

Oregon State: Gary Anderson steps down (Oct 8) as head coach, Cory Hall will serve as interim head coach.

UTEP: Sean Kugler was fired as head coach on October 1st...earlier, Brent Pease was fired as OC on Sept 17th.

Now that's the way a coaching change thread should be started. Nice job, BMF.

Would be better if you removed the little league teams. They don't affect us one way or another.

Wanna bet? We couldn't even land a guy who's been supposedly waiting for the "right job". UF has no clout anymore. We're done. In a few weeks they'll introduce Jim MacElwain v2.0.

I'm not angry. I'm apathetic and accepting of what we've become. All-Sports Trophy U, but football doesn't get to join the fun.

Oregon State: Virginia head coach Bronco Mendenhall says he’s not interested in the Oregon State job and that he’s “moved on” since being a candidate the last time it was open. Mendenhall is an Oregon State graduate. In addition, Cal offensive coordinator Beau Baldwin was recently asked if he’s interviewed for the Oregon State job and replied, “Interesting. That's funny. No, that's exactly what they are, rumors.”

Arkansas Pine Bluff: Head coach Monte Coleman will not return. Coleman went 40-70 in 10 seasons and is in the last year of his contract.

Kansas State: Regarding a report last week that Bill Snyder nixed a plan for Jim Leavitt to become coach-in-waiting last offseason, Snyder said Monday, “We had a vacancy on our staff and I had offered Jim the opportunity to come. The rest of it is something that I'm not totally aware of. The administration would be better served to answer that. I would love to have had him here.” In March, linebackers coach Mike Cox announced he would not return. Leavitt had joined Oregon from Colorado as defensive coordinator at that point.

That's what you think....If someone can't find where Fooley hid the checkbook we'll be browsing in the bargain aisle again...:suicide:

We're already browsing the bargain aisles or Chip Kelly wouldn't be entertaining UCLA right now.

okay let's talk about Arkansas pine-bluff

Coaching hires are a domino effect. Arkansas-Pine Bluff may have no impact on our program directly....but they may end up hiring a coach w/ ties to UF or a coach that will have future ties to UF. This will be a running thread, like it was last off-season. There's a lot of good info in coaching hires. It's how you keep track of guys like Mike Norvell, Justin Fuente, Mike Campbell, etc. A lot of people think UF is the only college football program that exists and then are shocked, caught off guard, "who the hell is that guy?" It's a way to keep track of College Football in general. I figured you, of all people, would enjoy a little CFB info/reading....

Here's a legitimate job opening for Butters.....and UF grad Jedd Fisch is getting a look:

Montana: Head coach Bob Stitt will not return next season. Stitt went 21-14 in three seasons, including 7-4 this year, and his contract is set to expire.

Northwestern State (La.): Defensive coordinator Brad Laird has been promoted to head coach. Laird, a former Northwestern State quarterback, spent the past season on staff and also coached there in 1996 and from 2008-11. He was the head coach at Ruston High School (La.) from 2013-16.

South Alabama: Head coach Joey Jones will not return next season. Jones is 52-49 in nine years, the only coach in South Alabama history, and he is in the last year of his contract. He will coach the Jaguars’ finale against New Mexico State on Dec. 2. Here's a breakdown of the job, and names to watch.

Oregon State: The Beavers “have been in touch with” UCLA offensive coordinator / interim head coach Jedd Fisch about their head coaching job, according to ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura.

Robert Morris (Pa.): Head coach John Banaszak will not return. Banaszak went 8-34 in four seasons and is in the last year of his contract. He was previously an assistant at RMU for 11 years.
