I hesitate in replying to this but I keep seeing it and my ocd won't allow me to go past it ... again. In no way am I advocating for Randy Shannon as an option to coach or anything like that. But seriously, is there a coach out there, that could step in with the pile of crap that we are, Nord, Nuss and so on ... depleted rosters ... and really succeed? Are you truly comparing us to Clemson? I actually thought he coached a decent game against USC all things considererd. Yes ... I do understand that some of the problems on the field stem from his recruiting and such ... but I also acknowledge that he wasn't the head coach that ran the program into the ground. I have no idea what the situation was like while butters was coaching us and can't imagine what it would have been like to see the ineptness on display from the SC to the offensive coaching. He had to shake his head a lot.

No I’m not comparing us to clemson per se. But they ran through us like a hot knife for much of that game and have been completely shut out.

I didnt expect us to be a completely different team under him, but when we look as soft as ever 4 games later, I think it’s ludicrous crossbar that anyone feels like he HAS to be retained.

Ftr, I want referencing you in particular, but more the notion that RS is some pivotal force that we must build things around.

I can agree with that ... however, I wouldn't take it as gospel that the retention of RS was the sticking point because the same people pushing that narrative are the same people that pushed the 'Done Deal' narrative.

If they can somehow get Frost to agree on a deal, I want it announced as soon as possible. Got to salvage as much of this recruiting class that we can.

Kiffin can bring exciting offense and high level recruits. I know he is an ass but eventually he will mature and he will be a

Recruiting aspect keeps Sumlin above Morris. Kids follow Sumlin... We need 5 Stars.
Sumlin recruits A&M, Morris recruits the only school to ever get the death penalty. I think he’d be fine

Speaking of Taggert putting 69 on Oregon State, they only won one game this year and that was a 3 point barn-burner against intergalactic juggernaut Portland State. Most of the rest of their games were ass whippings. Not even the bottom barrel teams in the SEC have a record of 1-11.

The only flag that I'm concerned about raising is the flag of victory. Unless the dude got his degree from a Cracker Jack box, they need to give him a look. We have to stop with all of the moral victories.

We are on the verge of the same fate, self imposed of course. We need a big time coach and a modernization of our universities football facilities and player amenities.

If we're really considering Kiffin on the list at all - which we unfortunately maybe should be doing at this point - then he should probably be directly under Frost as #2 on the current list. If we miss Frost (and are actually considering ol' Laney boy), then we might as well put him where he ranks on his coaching talent...

I really don't know how I'd feel about Kiffin. Coaching talent wise, he's legit. It's the character that would give us all serious reason for pause and concern. He'd kind've be like buying one of those $100K+ Audi's someone was talking about on the other thread; except the on the "Kiffin" CarFax there are 5 previous owners and 3 accidents...

But again, like someone else said, he is going to mature at some point, he may already be turning that corner. Yeah, he has his skeletons in the closet; but none of the Freeze, Briles, Petrino type shenanigans. Mostly he's just an ass. But hey, most people outside the Florida fans always thought that about SOS too. With some serious vetting Kiffin may (I can't believe I'm saying this) be worth the gamble IF (big IF) we end up getting turned down by Frost.

Have we even entertained Norvell? I know it's hard to answer when we don't really know but I feel like we haven't even looked at him.
He's kind of the board favorite right now. Dooley claims he won't get a look though

He kill some people?

No clue ... and don't even know if it is true ... just what people are saying around here. If other places are backing off from him because of it you know UF won't touch him ... sigh.

With that said ... Arkansas job just opened up and not sure he would come to UF now anyways. Don't know though ... I am not an insider.
