This is great conversation...We say our new coach can't recruit great players, so we help him out by making comments like this to help scare a committed recruit off...NOT THAT THEY ARE READING...but some recruits may hear about the fan base displeasure . You really know what's broken at Florida, We Are! We are the most obnoxious, egotistical, spoiled brat fans in college sports. Hey I'm pissed too! We were told we're gonna make Football fun again. I just don't see it with this hire. I see boredom. I see mediocrity. I see another coaching search in 4 years, while I see every other program get their guy. If we are all that, why didn't happen for Florida. Don't blame Strickland. Blame US. No one wants OUR job because US. Read this board again. Why don’t you see what Tennessee is stuck with before holding their fans out as proper examples. As far as stats, I can cherry pick all day like you to make an argument. I hate the hire but we have Mullen because the top candidates don’t want the job. I’m not pissed at Mullen, I’m pissed that we’re so bad off when we reach out to a coach at UCF he doesn’t even want to talk. I’m pissed a coach would rather go to UCLA than Florida. Were we that imminently at risk of losing Mullen if we didn't strike it this past weekend? What was the net plus-minus of waiting another week to vette the possibility of guys like Norvell or Fuente? I'm forever going to wonder about that. Did we pounce on Mullen too soon?

Same way that everyone seems to label him as a 'winner' despite every possible statistics saying otherwise.

How on earth does a guy with a losing conference record over 9 years, and the atrocious record against ranked teams get labeled a 'winner' at all?

In his entire career as OC and HC, he's had really great teams 3 times. All 3 when he had the exact right QB (Alex Smith, Tebow, Prescott). When he doesn't have a giant bulldozer who can kinda throw the ball sometimes, it's garbage.

We just hired a guy as an offensive guru. In his entire time at MSU, he had ONE top-10 offense. After that? only one that even broke the top 40.

So a good Offense needs a good QB? Smh, Its MSST ppl, not many 4-5 star QBs are passing up Bama and OU to go to Starkville. Bama struggled to beat them and they destroyed LSU.

The more interesting stat to me is Mullen was 2-15 in ranked match ups.

So when Mullen had a good team he could not beat other good teams with decent coaches. If you have a mediocre team and you usually lose games against teams having good years, that might not mean you are a bad coach. If when you have a good team, you almost always lose to other good teams, that make you suspect in my mind.

I didn't feel anger, just befuddlement that we capitulated so soon after the Frost no. I figured we had more fight left in us. Apparently not. Mullen was the safe fallback.
