Davis is gone....

Florida: Sources tell FootballScoop, Dan Mullen has offered positions at Florida to Mississippi State assistants John Hevesy (offensive line), Billy Gonzales (receivers) and Todd Grantham (defensive coordinator). All threeare expected to go with Mullen.
Not necessarily, Bama ran with two OL coaches. Hevesy was a TE coach at one point. With the extra assistant, Davis may stay if they view him as a recruiting asset.

So we are going to run a 3-4 with no viable options at nose, and 3 scholarship backers.
Well I guess Zuniga or Cece would become the 4th backer if we go that route.

Holy crap, we’re questioning Tebow’s dedication to UF now??? Great googly moogly, people!

Former players publicly questioning the coaches and administration is never a good look. We’ve seen it happen at other schools and laughed at them (ut). It’s poor leadership and Timmy knows that. I’m sure he’s bit his tongue on several occasions.

Huh? My question is simple...if Dan Mullen had championship expectations why did he stay at MSU for 9 years? I'm not questioning Tebow at all.

You mean you're not going to remind us how gutless we all are for not blowtorching Century Tower?

Still waiting on your take as to what we should have done.

Not Mullen. Thanks. We have incompetent UAA folks to answer your question. Their track record is spotless.

CG, listen man. It's the same thing as fields. These 2 kids arent prescott and tebow. They are 6'1 or 6'2 guys that are around 200 lbs. Unless Mullen drastically, and I mean DRASTICALLY changes his offense, then even if one or even both came here, they wouldn't make a real impact and probably be injured all the time. Mullen needs daks and cam type kids to make his offense go.

Trust me, Id LOVE if he came here and changed his offense properly to fit either of these 2 kids abilities but I dont think that'll happen. And before the proverbial, but he changed for Chris Leak narrative gets thrown out (again) lets remember that Urban did that. Mullen just said ok, and did what he was told.

Drastically change? I’m no Xs and Os guy, but I would think adjusting the spread option from bulldozer QB to fast QB would be easier than shifting between pro and option. I’m not guaranteeing anything, just being my normal Lloyd Christmas self (so you’re saying there’s a chance).

Those kids ARE pro offense system kids. It's why butters was recruiting them. Could they still come here? Sure, anything is possible. But they'll be running a single wing spread option offense. THAT is the point.

Sorry, totally misread that.

From that context, I recall reports that foley and Mullen didn’t get along. DM probably wouldn’t have been hired if he begged for it who jf was still AD.

I haven’t watched tape and couldn’t evaluate it if I tried, but I thought both Corral and Fields were listed as dual threat? Read lots of comments on here that both have wheels.

So, basically no QB in this year's class is equipped to run the spread now or ever?

They can both move, fields more so than corrall. Fields could be a dual threat in a auburn style system, but he'd be murdered in mullens. Corrall is NOT a dual threat. Hes just a good qb that has some quickness and ability to scramble if a play breaks down and theres an open lane to run. There's a reason both of them are committed to schools running (well up until yesterday) pro style offenses. Think about it like this, franks has wheels too... do you want him running the mullen offense? :suicide:

In theory it's easy. Basically you let the halfback take the inside run parts of the option and you let the quarterback take the outside. You forget the Q power stuff altogether. It's basically what the 70s-early 90s Notre Dame offense used to be before we reversed it for Tebow. In practice Mullins has never done that since then. I don't know why.

I will say that I really liked the 2007 offense when we were throwing the ball around a lot. We knew we had a bad defense and we would have to score more in order to win. That too went away in 2008 and Mullins hasn't run it since.

You're jsut being obtuse just to do so. But noone on our roster is or in our committed class is equipped, no. And unless mullen moves to a option system where its not qb power heavy, neither is fields. I'm sure there are plenty of kids out there who are, but they arent on our roster. I dont know why you guys are having such a problem with this. I'd be saying it whether I was on the mullen train or not. It's just fact. Mullen is gonna either need to modify things big time, or find another qb.
