Explain how he "screwed up" the Kelly deal?

You're jsut being obtuse just to do so. But noone on our roster is or in our committed class is equipped, no. And unless mullen moves to a option system where its not qb power heavy, neither is fields. I'm sure there are plenty of kids out there who are, but they arent on our roster. I dont know why you guys are having such a problem with this. I'd be saying it whether I was on the mullen train or not. It's just fact. Mullen is gonna either need to modify things big time, or find another qb.
Well, if the #1 rated dual threat QB in America can't run it because he is "too small" how does anyone field a team who runs it? Seriously, you are way out on a limb here.

Why don’t you see what Tennessee is stuck with before holding their fans out as proper examples. As far as stats, I can cherry pick all day like you to make an argument. I hate the hire but we have Mullen because the top candidates don’t want the job. I’m not pissed at Mullen, I’m pissed that we’re so bad off when we reach out to a coach at UCF he doesn’t even want to talk. I’m pissed a coach would rather go to UCLA than Florida. Our program is crap right now.
It wasn't Kelly, Frost, well I guess that's everyone, so Mullen then. Mullen is the bottom of the barrel. A bad recruiter, developer and coach with a losing record. And he has history with the university that is very negative, both himself and his ignorant wife insulting the fanbase. This is a terrible hire, he won't win sh#t here and will be fired in 3-4 years with us even worse off than we are now. Stricklin sealed his fate with this hire. Now we are stuck waiting for the inevitable.

A big two or three star is probably better. Might even be an "athlete" not QB. They dont need to throw much, if at all. The "passes" we do throw will be forward pitches basically half the time.

I wont be surprised if we dont have a few already in mind.

Good Lord GMD you are being so obtuse you're convincing yourself of nonsense. He can play dual threat, but not the mullen offense. He'd be great in a malzahnn or oklahoma style spread option. But NOT in a qb power style that mullen runs. I dont know how many times I have to say it. Mullen's offense is heavy QB power runs up the middle. You really want Justin Fields or Matt Corrall playing halfback? Really?

I am sorry, but i just don't think he uses a QB to pound it up the gut if the guy is not big enough... Ala Chris Leak... Let's agree to disagree here.

Meyer showed a propensity to change things up based on personnel. Very true. Mullen has shown no such thing as the lead decision maker (head coach) in 9 years. So yes, we will.

I can dig that ... but ... he isn't offensive minded? I am not sure what we would have paid for Strong and I am not sure it is a given he would have taken the job. I actually preferred Strong as well, but for the life of me I can't honestly sit here and say one is better than the other as a hire.

$6 Million per year.

Same as Urban and Dabo.

It's outrageous. This is like paying a 3rd round NFL draft pick 1st round money. He should have been offered two things:

1) $1 more than you're making at MSU.
2) The opportunity to leave this sh*thole you've been living in for the last 9 years to return to the great state of Florida....and we'll pay for your move.
