Between Kevin Steele, Mel Tucker, and Jeremy Pruitt, I don't even know which one I'd enjoy more at UT; they all just seem so horrible.

Kevin Steele is the worst coach of the three. Mel Tucker leaving would screw over UGA in the playoffs. Jeremy Pruitt would likely rack up recruiting violations and possibly a Bobby Petrino motorcycle crash level incident.

It's all just so glorious. And it's even better that UT fans started this search actually thinking they could get Jon Gruden or Chip Kelly.

At this point, I’m surprised they don’t just send some flowers and a box of chocolates to Butch and ask him if he’d come back to them.?.

How dysfunctional are you as an institution when the mountain of fail that is the NCAA looks at you and goes: "damn, they are dysfunctional"?

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. NCAA has about as much credibility as FIFA.

Looks like Rotoworld may have fallen for a fake account. Not positive though.

@Rotoworld_Draft: Report: Alabama DC Pruitt turns down Vols http://tinyurl.com/ycs25syr

247Sports' Wes Rucker reports that Alabama DC Jeremy Pruitt has turned down Tennessee's four-year, $5 million contract to be the Vols' next head coach.

According to Rucker, this potential marriage disintegrated because Pruitt wanted to coach with Alabama through the Playoff. Tennessee wanted him to boot up immediately in Knoxville. With Pruitt the latest name to pass on the Vols' gig -- it's been open since November 12 -- Auburn DC Kevin Steele, Georgia DC Mel Tucker, USC OC Tee Martin and former LSU HC Les Miles are a few players to keep an eye on as this search continues on its ever-winding way.

Kevin steele is a terrible head coach and coordinator. He's been fired by baylor as hc. Clemson fired him as dc after wvu hung 70 on them in a bowl game. Then LSU fired as DC after one year. Then auburn hired him after missing on pretty much everyone and he's been the beneficiary of the guys will muschamp recruited at the barn. Tennesee hiring steele would be a dream come true for us. Best case scenario without a doubt.

I dont know where ESPN is getting that. He was 92-12 at Boise St and he is currently 37-16 at Washington.

Also.... and I didnt know this... but according to wiki:
Following a Pac-12 championship and College Football Playoff appearance in 2016, Petersen's contract was extended through 2023 with an average salary of $4.875 million per year. This new contract makes Petersen the highest paid coach in the Pac-12.

Sorry it wasn’t BSPN. Here is where I got it from.

While it hasn't gone entirely to plan, I remain somewhat confident that Tennessee will have it's coach in place before kickoff with West Virginia on Sept 1 2018.

So who it is going to be? Steele, Pruitt, or Tucker?

I hope it’s either Steele or Tucker. I’ve literally never heard of Mel Tucker. This whole thing cracks me up. Being a Gator living in Knoxville is like a dream come true.

Everything I'm hearing points to Pruitt announcement tomorrow.
Rumor is that Pruitt deal hit a major snag regarding assistants. Fulmer was imposing his will with Tee Martin and John Chavis. Rumor is Pruitt fought back however they reached an agreement of some sorts on it. What exactly I don't know.

Damn, I was really hoping for Mel Tucker. It would have been great to see UT saddle itself with a crap HC while robbing UGA of their DC right before they faced Oklahoma in the playoffs.
