The years he drew UF, UGA, and TN the teams were in a down year and didn't finish above .500 in the SEC. It speaks volumes to me that he only has 2 wins against teams with a winning SEC record knowing he had several opportunities and failed. My point is if you put Saban or Meyer as the coach at MSU with the same players the last 9 years they would have found a way to win more games against the elite teams. It might not have been a lot more games but they wouldn't have had a 6-32 record against top 25 teams, it would have been somewhere around 15-23.

Meyer and Saban would have NEVER stayed at MSU for 9 years.

Fact. Most people here didnt like the hire.
Fact. Mullens record is average.
Fact. We have no clue how he will do here.
Fact. The majority of fans are skeptical.
Fact. Mullen is our coach like it or not.
Fact. Mullen will be here for several years.
Fact. There is absolutely nothing we can do to change it.
Highly likely. Fields isnt coming here.

That wasn't the point. The point was that elite coaches find ways to win games they are not supposed to win. Mullen does not do that

Fun fact, Meyer lost to a West team every year he was here and never beat Auburn. That was with elite talent...talent that MSU would only dream of. Good thing he was coaching at UF instead of MSU because who knows how he'd be thought of today.

I still consider Dan Mullen our Mark Richt hire. He’ll even us out and we’ll win 9-10 games a season once he gets his players in place. I hope i’m wrong and he does better, but I doubt it. I think a lot of fans would be ok for the first five years like that, but eventually they’ll be hungry for more.

Championships are light years away. We just need the program rebuilt.

Seriously, how can you say this if you were around for 1989? Championships are a season away with the right coach.

No matter what MusElwain did to this program, UF only had muitiple players suspended last year not multiple players suspended for gambling which is a far worse thing in athletics. UF is not building back after probation and being limited to 20 less scholarship than other programs were allowed.

That's my feeling on Mullen, as well. But I'd argue that Florida *needs* at least a Richt right now to get the program rebuilt and back to national prominence.

Three things:

1) We don't have half the talent we had in 1989. The roster is in shambles.
2) The conference has changed dramatically and is one hell of a lot more competitive.
3) Most of all, Dan Mullen is not Steve Spurrier.

When Meyer took over in 2005, the cupboard was full. That sure as hell isn't the case now. Even Urban Meyer would take 4 years to win it all here this time instead of 2.

Other than a few on this board, I haven't any real anger except Brindise and he backed off. Please document this statement with links to links to articles, twitter, op eds, whatever, that support the statement "many close to the program are so angry."

That's the point though. You need some luck and breaks to go your way to win it, but if Mullen is going to compete for championships we'll know a lot sooner than year 7. I'd say by year 3 it'll be obvious if this was another mistake or not. Saban ain't getting any younger so somebody is going to take over as top Dog or top Gator. If he can't beat Kirby then fuhgeddaboutit.

Not year three, year one. I don't expect to win titles right away but I do expect to see improvement.
