Saw a couple of movies over the weekend:

Mummy (2017) - Lets start off by saying this movie made me miss Brandon Frazier. The CGI wasn't bad, but the movie was boring. The most interesting part of the movie was the group working to stop evil, but they didn't really get to far into it. Basic movie plot, someone opens tomb, Tom Cruise runs a lot, action scene and it ends. I got to rent this for free and wanted my money and time back. 3/10

Threat Matrix Matrix: No boobs or has SQ says bush were scene or harmed, but could have been quite useful.

Atomic Blonde (2017) - Interesting premise from the start. The action is pretty good, and the story has a few twists in it. Was a little predictable at times. Kept me entertained for the 2 hours. 7/10.

Treatmatrix Matrix: there were boobs seen and some simulated girl on girl action.

The Last Jedi - just saw it tonight.

This is among the best Star Wars movies yet. No spoilers, but my guess is a lot of fans are distressed by the plot’s treatment of a favorite character. But it works. It all works. There’s no recapturing the wonder of Episode IV, but The Last Jedi is true to the franchise and an excellent continuation of the saga. It continues to honor its predecessors but cuts new directions just when you think it’s getting predictable. Great movie!

Best? It's maybe 5th. It's not better than any of the original three(4-6). Episode 3 was pretty damn good. Hell, Force Awakens may have been better. It's just ok.

Edit: And I totally respect your opinion...I'm just trying to understand why some of us think it's the best thing ever.

I’m don’t think it’s the best ever but do think some will have it up there and can understand if they do. I really need a second viewing before I could rank it honestly because seeing it with an opening night crowd may have affected it more positively for me. I definitely think it’s better than 1-3 because jar jar and Hayden ruined those for me. I also thinks it’s better than force awakens but I thought Rogue One was pretty darn good . I would put it between 3-5 after a second viewing probably.

Oh no worries - I’ve only got one hill to die on and this isn’t it.

I don’t expect to ever recapture the sheer excitement & joy of Episode IV. Empire Strikes Back remains the most compelling for me. I wasn’t thrilled with the Ewoks. I actually like the prequels and was really struck when I realized Palpatine was behind both the droid and clone armies.

Acting-wise, Daisy Ridley is lights years ahead of a young Mark Hamill and frankly better today. The effects, cinematography etc. in these most recent 3 (including Rogue One)ale good use of technological advances. Best of all, they’ve struck the right tone.

In part, I’m probably reacting against the idiotic assault being waged via Rotten Tomatoes. 54% of fans like it? Please. It’s a very worthy addition.

I think i really need at least a 2nd viewing of it to really judge it. There were parts of it i really liked and some that i absolutely hated. Some of what i hated is too much of a spoiler but maybe after seeing it again along with seeing where they take it in the next one i'll feel differently

Please note I said “among the best”. By that, I mean the group of really good ones (for me, IV, V, Rogue One & Awakens) vs. those that aren’t. (Hayden is wooden and drags Portman into that pit.)

The first six episodes can collectively be called “Little Orphan Ani”.

I wasn’t overly happy with The Last Jedi. I don’t feel like it built on The Force Awakens well... it took things in another direction.

There were some really good parts, but a lot of bad parts also (Casino for ex.). I feel like there was a lot of potential for it to be much better than it was.

Ha! I'd forgotten the casino other than hooking up with del Toro (always like seeing him cameo).

Overall, I liked it a lot. It felt clean, as oppossed to cluttered with a bunch of non-critical crap. Moved quickly for the most part. It may sound cruel, but if they haven't already put the next episode on film, I'll be relieved to not be looking at an aging Leia so much anymore (depressing compared to how she used to look). Honestly, I'll put it in the top 3-5 of the series and it actually has me looking forward to the next one. 8/10

Dunkirk - this one is a thriller from the start. Allied soldiers trapped in the beach and the push to rescue them. It’s light on diologue but makes up for it with the actors doing a great job in their parts. Check this one out. 7.5/10

Last Jedi- With the nostalgia/breakthrough appeal of the original recognized, The Last Jedi is possibly the 2nd-3rd best movie of the series. It has throwbacks to Empire but tries to move ahead. Some stuff was just weird but not wholly unlikable. Nothing in it that made me think this has no place here.

You should watch it on a larger screen with good speakers. Not saying it will change your mind but it would probably be more enjoyable.

Ingrid Goes West - starring Aubrey Plaza and Michele Olson. About a girl who is crazy, doesn’t have many friends and stalks people on social media. It’s one of those movies where the preview you see and the movie you get are two different things. Marketed as a comedy but not many laughs in it at all.

So it starts out with her crying because the last girl she stalked didn’t invite he to a wedding and she ruins it. From there she finds a new girl to stalk and tries desperately to meet her and get into her life. Things go good for a while but when she is about to be exposed the true crazy comes out.

Not sure what the message is supposed to be. Anti depression, anti social media or what. Ends on a somewhat happy note for a character that really doesn’t deserve it.

No boobs 4/10. Others might like this more than me, but was slow, boring and not a lot of substance.

Transformers 52: The Last Knight - don't waste your time.

typical Bay - a lot of explosions and very little story

to say it sux & I was greatly disappointed would be an exaggerated understatement.

Bright - will smith Netflix movie. Other stars are Joel elgerton and Naomi rapace.

Takes place in a world full of mythical creatures. Doesn’t go to far into back story but a long time ago all the species banded togethor to defeat the big bad. Orcs live a ghetto lifestyle, Farris are rich and humans are middle class. There are also centaurs and other creatures.

Smith and his orc police partner get pulled into a plot by dark elves to bring back the big bad and they have to stop them while evading everyone. It turns into a WTF mashup of mythology that they don’t give you much background on.

If bored watch it. There a short strip club scene, but this is nothing special and there’s a reason it didn’t get a theatrical release. 5/10
