I don’t watch the HS All Star games so help me out. Have we gotten any verbals the past few days from kids playing in these games and if so, who? Have our rivals been getting any new verbals at these games? It’s seemed pretty quiet, not sure if that’s just because recruits aren’t announcing anything until NSD or if we’re losing out.

I think the early signing period took a ton of shine off AA game announcements. They used to do it before every commercial - now there are only a handful between both games.

Yeah, you’re probably right. I never really thought about that. Thanks for weighing in.

I think the early signing period will kill one of those games. It was the combo of seeing your schools commits limited plays AND the in game announcements that made the games worth watching. Now? Meh.

I read an article a few days ago that said schools are under a strict mandate to sign 25 max this year. I'm anxious to see if the usual violators (Alabama, Ole mss and Tennessee) as well as others abide by the mandate or just ignore it as in past years. Can anyone confirm this and how will it impact our numbers.

We are always under a 25 limit, but there are always exceptions, ie countbacks for early enrollees (and countbacks for the years before).

We have landed a full class in recent memory. Probably since 2008.

Exactly.

I think we have 8 early enrollees right? I think 27 is the max. Which means that we can still sign 19 on NSD.

We will be getting rid of some deadweight. So we shouldn’t have a problem staying underneath the 82 scholarship limit.

85 is the limit for everyone but us

I thought it was 82. But that could be because that’s the most we ever have. 1 year under the chump I think we had 55. Insanity.
it is 85, the total limit, counted in August. We've never been anywhere near 85 for real scholarship players (not walk-ons that got awarded a scholarship because we had extras), not to mention scholarship players who have essentially quit but are still taking up space on the team.

A good breakdown of transition classes by Will Miles. Look at blue chip ratio, and how signed 16 3 stars in that first class

I will give Mac some slack for his first class. He wasn't recruiting the SE hard and Muschamp not only left him with squat, but recruited against him on many recruits. however, Mac proved to be shyt in recruiting and we're lucky he got canned.

Mac was the laziest recruiter I've ever witnessed. How many times did we hear, "I was interested in Fla but they offered late, didn't keep in touch, didn't try when I camped there, etc."

Mac is a lazy bum who got his fat check and made BBQ sauce instead of coaching/recruiting.

Fat lazy pile of shyt.

Even the opposing coaches commented about how he didn't want to put the effort into recruiting.

Or coaching.
