Missouri: Offensive coordinator Derek Dooley has agreed to a three-year deal paying him a guaranteed salary of $900,000 annually, according to a report from the Post-Dispatch. The report adds that Dooley’s salary makes him the highest paid assistant in the history of Missouri football. Dooley’s contract expires February 28, 2021 and includes a one-year extension effective February 28, 2019 unless Missouri provides a notice of non-extension by then. If terminated without cause, Dooley would receive his base salary payable in monthly increments until his contract expires, but not beyond 12 months. If Dooley were to leave for another position or a head coaching job in the NFL or Canada he would owe Mizzou monthly installments of his base salary through the end of his deal. Josh Heupel, who was the offensive coordinator the last two seasons, made $700,000 annually at Mizzou.

@BradBiggs: Matt Nagy's first hire as #Bears head coach is a big one. He lured offensive line coach Harry Hiestand away from Notre Dame for a second run with the team. http://trib.in/2D1dbfK

Wow. That's a big commitment to a guy who's never been an OC.

@TomVH: OL Harry Hiestand leaving Notre Dame for the Chicago Bears is a big deal for recruiting and the OL. Hiestand is so well respected among his players and prospects always rave about him.

@BruceFeldmanCFB: Don’t be shocked if Jon Gruden & the Raiders try & hire #Michigan’s Pep Hamilton for his offensive staff.

Per ESPN: SOURCES: Baylor coach Matt Rhule interviewed for the Indianapolis Colts head coaching vacancy earlier this week. Rhule, who completed his first season with the Bears in November, spent the 2012 season as the New York Giants offensive line coach. He is 29-34 in five seasons as a college head coach.

That OL transfer from Clemson went there last year (after he came to UF for a week).....and didn't one of our early WR commits just "flip" to Baylor? Wow. I doubt Rhule gets the job w/ Indy, but he'd get the hell out of Waco in a milli-second if he's offered this job!

Mississippi State: A person with direct knowledge of the situation confirms a report by Bruce Feldman that Georgia staff member Scott Fountain is expected to join the Mississippi State coaching staff.

Arkansas: The Razorbacks finalized more of their staff by hiring Steve Caldwell (defensive line) from Boise State, Ron Cooper (secondary) from Texas A&M, John Scott Jr. (defensive line) from Arkansas and Mark Smith (secondary) from SMU. Cooper worked with new Arkansas defensive coordinator John Chavis at A&M, and Caldwell and Chavis worked together for 15 years at Tennessee.

i remember Azzanni here. I'm surprised he's moved up to the NFL, I remember him as the first in a long line of forgettable WR coaches

He's had a heck of a career as a WR coach at some bigtime programs (UF, Tenn, Wisconsin) and two NFL teams now.

He was a Meyer protege, having started as a GA at Bowling Green. He spent 1 year as an OC at Western Kentucky then back to being a WR coach. I'm surprised he hasn't been picked up as an OC somewhere.

Mehhhh. Wasn't this his first job? Or maybe I'm thinking of Smith. It matters not. Urban always used WR and TE as expendable positions coaches, who were primarily recruiters first.

South Carolina: Former South Carolina player Marcus Lattimore will join the staff as director of player development, according to The State.

Oregon: Former Oregon head coach Mark Helfrich has joined the Chicago Bears as offensive coordinator, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Western Kentucky: There is no truth to the report that Mike Sanford is a candidate for the Arizona job, a person with direct knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Nicole Auerbach.

@BruceFeldmanCFB: SOURCES: Former #TAMU special teams coordinator & recruiting coordinator Jeff Banks will become the new STC for #Alabama. Banks also had been one of the Aggies top recruiters, helped land Christian Kirk.

Yet another reason UGA has free reign over in-state recruiting.....no Georgia based rival that competes for top recruits. This decision by Tech will extend their mediocrity for another four years.
