Somebody tell Copeland's Mom that he can come and play right away at UF as opposed to Bama where he will sit behind 5 * guys for a year or two...

I suppose you’re one of those that would have rather he filled the spots with 3 stars to “improve our Rivals ranking” and be stuck with tackle dummies than manage a roster and leave spots open for next year, right?
He could have easily added 6 more 3 stars and get a full 25. That would have put us at 7th on Rivals...is that what you’d rather have?

Thank you very much in believing in Florida Football. I know it was difficult decision to come to Florida, where things are in transition and uncertain. The real Gator Nation appreciates your "commitment". We learned a bunch about some of you today. Some of you stepped back from your commitment, understandably. Then you still came! Lost in the world we live today is character...YOU ALL HAVE IT! What you said to me is...."I want to follow thru on my promise I made, not to the old coaching, but to the University and its fans... I WANT to be a Gator, and go out and fix it". When you do, you will be fondly remembered by GATOR NATION! You are already Champions! You have character...And that is what it takes to win...In football and life. Thanks again GO GATORS!!!!

Having listened to the presser I agree. And if you measure the class in terms of quality (average star rating of who we did take) we ARE sitting at 7th nationally and that does not include the two WR transfers.
Next year's signing class is where we can start the real hair pulling. We got some genuine quality this year and will expect to see it combined with quantity in the 2019 cycle.

14 of this class are 4*, UF added 3 today and closed the deal on 2 more.
That raises the % of 4* or better on the roster from 40% to 44%. There are now 19 on offense and 17 on defense, 36 of 81 on the roster.
Yes, this was a solid close to a solid transition class. Langham was a very happy surprise to end the day.

I'm not just knocking you, rather everyone that was complicit in disparaging this kid's mom. Grow the fu@k up! Who are any of you to judge her reaction in such a manner? In the heat of the moment she overreacted. But like any adult, she came back and was supportive of her child. We can't be a scumbag fan base like that. How do you think future recruits will feel about coming to a place where the fans may bash your parents even if you come here. I'm all for good humor, but this is just tasteless. I'm ashamed to say that we represent the same team.
edit: I got home late from work and I'm just now catching up on the thread. I see this point has been made by several posters. Carry on...

He hasnt had anyone like Percy. Nobody has. Meyer hasnt really used anyone like him either while at OSU.

Their class has lots of holes in it. Its very meh to me. They got an elite db class though.

Glad to see us beat out Bama for two stud players. Check out this quote from Saban today:
Saban also said he was hoping to add a third defensive lineman, but the Tide have plans to potentially address that issue:
“We were actually hoping to get one more defensive lineman in this class,” Saban said. “We feel really good about the two guys that we got. Stephon Wynn is a really good player, a big power guy. (Christian) Barmore is the same kind of guy.
“I think some of the outside ‘backer-type guys have become defensive linemen, so the fact that we got some really good guys at outside ‘backer that have really good size and really good size potential may grow into something else in their career here. But that’s something that remains to be seen. But we feel really good about those two guys.”
