You're quite handy....Wanna help a bud out?
I should point out to you that to extend the life of pressure treated wood it is recommended not to paint it though...Doesn't let the wood breath is what my deckbuilder told me. I do say though it looks awesome and I would probably give up a few years life for the cosmetic appeal.

It is an interesting point. I did research it beforehand. The yellawood.com website has a ton of info on treated lumber care and maintenance. I would say all the woodworking/carpentry sites out there are 50/50 on this subject. I had an incredible deck back in Oregon that I was ultra-anal about maintenance and staining (pre-kids) and the deck look brand new when we left. Because of that good experience, I am a stain believer. Regarding the fence... it's not really fair to call it paint though, it is a tinted oil based stain. I have a huge playground set that I built and then built a treehouse that connected to it. I stained some of it and that section is in MUCH better shape than the unstained. Building that treehouse was ton of fun.

For me, I get a big hard on for stuff like that. This summer, I will help my bestfriend install his new 400 ft dock in the St Johns that the hurricane took out. I'm really looking forward to it.

I dug up some old pics from my Oregon house. The backyard was extremely sloped. I hand dug that whole backyard out with a shovel and wheelbarrow (borrowed, of course), carried every single one of those 25lb blocks back there from pallets sitting on my driveway, and stacked that wall.

Also found a pic of the deck I was talking about. Man I loved that view. I could see Mt St Helens and Mt Hood from that porch swing.

JFC, Brad. Look at the size of that's neighbors house. You really are rich, aren't you.

BTW, completely agree with you on the wood staining. It's not paint, it's an oiled base stain that's actually helps protect the wood long term. We have to use it out here, if its the same stuff I'm thinking of, and you do have to reapply every few years, but it doesn't damage it and again, it's not paint.

Yeah man, that house is legit. My house is not even remotely in the same class as that house, but I built where I did because of it. I am smallest house in my neighborhood by a long shot... the true runt. That house is 4800 sq ft. They also have a 2600 sqft, AC'd barn... which they turned into a detached "garage" that is in actuality a FULLY loaded gym. They are on 7 acres and that fence right there under the treehouse starts their property. I built my house as close to that fence as I could (100ft due to Ag exemption requirements). The whole thing was built as a spec home by a high end custom builder in 2006 and was listed for 1.1 million. Then the bottom fell out, he went out of business, and the house went into the foreclosure. Those people picked it for.... wait for it.... $600,000 cash. They just put it on the market a few months ago for 1.35 mill. The sales brochure is incredible with all these amazing photos. You can actually see my house behind it, right through the trees. Every single photo, including all the drone shots make it seem my house is not there.

1.35M is a bargain for all that and the privacy to boot. I'd bring in an asphalt truck and make a Autocross course/burnout pad on that back lot(next to your house) and there is plenty of room next to that barn/garage to have a firearm range....but the best part is that we would be neighbors, Brad:lol:

Im on the board of directors for the neighborhood and so I would need to approve your suggested improvements. Luckily, I am easily bought.

This is near the Silver River/Springs and the Ocala National Forest. I'm nowhere near there.

Interesting story on how the rhesus monkeys got there though. Back in the 30s, Colonel Tooey created a jungle cruise ride on the Silver River. In order to make the boat ride better... he brought in a pack of rhesus monkeys and placed them on a small island on the river. He was told they cannot swim. He came back the next day and they were all gone because they swam across the river. They thrived in that environment. They are mean little fukers. We put in kayaks at the spring head and see them almost every trip. They'll jump right onto the kayak if you get to close. One did it to me once and I must have smacked that little bastard 40 yards away with my oar.

That was cool, although I am not a fan of the dark/lagoon look. I think their budget was a tad higher than mine. A built in hot tub: +$10,000. That cave, slide, and rock had to be +$15,000. Pavers +5000.

That's some serious lawn there. From the picture I can't see a weed in it. That lawn looks like a carpet. Did you put in sod?
