Hopefully this stays in place until 4pm tomorrow. At this point it is just an agreement, until the league year starts tomorrow at 4pm. Either side can officially pull out until then (at least according to the league calendar)

Great news for him and his family. Glad to see our Gator boys doing well in the league and getting paid.

He’s crazy under utilized in Philly. I don’t know much about the Bears offense. Would they use him more?

Probably because he'd be the starter. Philly had two good TE's ahead of him, especially Ertz.

Congrats to him. I was hoping the jags would go after him. We need a TE in the worst way.

The Super Bowl pass just netted him some serious coin. I love his attitude, and he's a good role player.

He's not $8MM per year good though.

they also have apparently the leader for Allen Robinson, one of the top FA WR this offseason. They are trying to upgrade around their new QB

TB should have about triple the catches he did this year with Chicago.

8 million a year? Well, the Bears did give Mike Glennon $15 million a year and then benched him after a handful of starts. Good work if you can get it.

It went the other way with arob to Bears too.

The jags made it clear they weren't paying A-rob the kind of money the bears did, nor should they. The guy had 1 outstanding year in 4. My guess is we offered him somewhere in the neighborhood of 7-8 million a year. A-rob thought he was worth more. To me, the bears got ripped off. Good for A-rob in getting paid.

And here I was thinking 8 million is pretty low for the highest rated passer in the superbowl

Glad for him but how much of that $32M will he actually receive? How much is guaranteed? I'm guessing 12 to 14M . Still nice but NFL contracts v other pro sport leagues are very misleading .

The Bears are moving quick to assemble missing pieces around Mitch Trubisky. Burton makes sense coming from another Andy Reid offense. Eagles coach Doug Pederson and new Bears coach Matt Nagy are both from the Reid coaching tree.

That is a lot of money for zero yards receiving, zero yards rushing, and two yards passing.

Good for him.

Who cares? If he only plays one year on this contract he's a multi-millionaire. He's young and healthy. Unless he's a complete bust and gets cut, he likely finishes this contract - or at least three years of it (if they cut him due to lack of production in year 2/3).

But, if he plays the entire contract, after taxes and agent fees he ends up w/ around $20 million. Hopefully he's not a douchebag and doesn't blow it all. Maybe he'll throw his brother a bone down at Venice HS (Clay is an assistant coach there). Other than that, this kid is set for life (plus he made $2.75 million this year w/ the Eagles).
