Let’s just say I know some people in the construction side of things and Stricklin is very involved in this process. And is actually allowing the coaches of the various sports lots of input as far as what they feel they “need” to have
Dude, your positive input is not going to go well here

I would rather wait a year and get baseball moved and build what’s needed instead of building what’s convenient
It's a fvkking baseball field for a team that draws 20-30 fans. They could have moved it immediately and let them play in front of some folding chairs or one or two temporary bleachers.

Thread Hijacked.
Nevertheless

Mizzou has suffered the greatest one-time loss in new applications to their school after the "racial diatribe". Before that only Tulane was worse and that was just after Hurricane Katrina moved them out. Now they have the big $$ to improve their facilities? Must be Kronke's money coming back to them.

Is the new baseball stadium broken ground yet? Because the lights turn off at McKethan in about 2-3 months, right? And I want the wrecking ball out there the next day because I want that football facility to begin ASAP.

Posting this up because I'm tired of the foot dragging by the UAA.

They are tearing down the south endzone in March for an expected opening in late August 2019 (before the season starts). They are spending $98 million!! It looks sharp too.

At the rate we're going, we won't have new facilities until 2020 at the earliest - and that's if they start it next calendar year. So, Mullen is forced to show drawings/pictures to recruits. "Hey, if you come here you'll have this nice facility when you're a senior!"
Get use to it because they're going to drag ass as long as possible! From what I've been hearing is it will be at least 2 more yrs before we break ground on the all in one. Word is they want to get everything they can out of boosters and anyone else before they start building. Smfh!

I wish someone would audit the athletic department/UAA so we can find out where all the money is going!

The donkey is correct. Baseball despite its success is not worth a new stadium. Last time I checked it lost a million a year. Add in $50M to the scheme and it's ridiculous. That money should go to football to help us compete. I swear these administrators have never taken a business course. If they had they'd know to spend the bulk of your funds on the damn product that is your cash cow and minimize it on money losing ventures.

Son of a bitch, I just googled it & the baseball team doesn’t start playing in their new stadium until 2020 season. So all the Debbie downers in this thread are correct, we’re not looking at a football facility until 3 years from now. This is some bull****!

You really wonder where the money is going? Why do you think they look so happy?

Now try to understand this.

The Gators have played in forty-three bowl games, won three national championships (1996, 2006, 2008) and eight Southeastern Conference championships, and produced 138 All-Americans, fifty-three National FootballLeague (NFL) first-round draft choices and three Heisman Trophy winners.

But we don't won't to get into an arms race because we don't want people to think that we are a football factory.
Thank you for explaining it so nicely. I was really quite confused as to our actual intentions.

I'm traveling so can't post much from my phone....

There's a 247 article saying that our project will begin this fall....for baseball. Football won't be done until 2020-21 (so, 2021) when next year's recruit class are juniors.

So how is Mizzou spending $98 mil on upgrades while facing a $49 mil budget deficit?
Mizzou faces a $49-million budget deficit after the 2015 protests in which students critiqued perceived racism at the school that ended up with the resignation of Mizzou’s president. Former Mizzou professor Melissa Click reportedly physically impeded a student journalist from covering an activism event and later got charged with a misdemeanor of assault. The school subsequently laid off 30 staff members and nixed 155 vacancies, but professors and protests are not the only reasons people have avoided Mizzou.

Sorry but that's still not where the money's going. Football makes about a $130 million a year.

Even the buyouts for Fooleys Fvkkups Part 2 and 3 are a drop in the bucket.

I’m probably in the minority but I’d rather wait a year and build it right than build it in a hurry just so we can say we did it.
Mac had a 3 story 100,000 square foot facility that would be under construction now.

UF changed its mind. Instead of cramming baseball and football next to each other like FSU we chose to build a bigger (130,000 Sq foot football facility for 65 million ) which is better positioned. It gives baseball and football more room for growth. Football ends up with a bigger footprint and more centrally located land than baseball will get.
