Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It’s endlessly quotable and only gets funnier every time I see it.

That’s in my personal top 5 and top 2 comedies (Young Frankenstein being the other and for the same reasons.)

My favorite all time is Casablanca. But the greatest, historically and on many other levels, has to be Gone with the Wind.

Greatest movie all time for me is The Wizard of Oz! Introduced the power of movie magic and was something that from my grandparents to my children have enjoyed and their children will enjoy. Timeless. My second would be Spaceballs introduced me to the world of Mel Brooks and spoof comedies! Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, Robin Hood men in tights.

Good call and more so since it wasn’t initially popular but has gained rightful standing over time. Timeless.

Kind of crazy that the same director, Victor Fleming, delivered that and my pick, Gone with the Wind, in the same year (1939).

Local morning radio show put together a 32 team bracket made up of sports movies. Half were before a specific year, half were after, so you avoided a bracket full of millennial era movies. The two eras were put on opposite sides so you ended up with a final of old vs new. In this instance it was Rocky vs We Are Marshall.

Should we put together a bracket of sports themed movies, or just favorite movies in general, and run a similar vote-off contest?

If we're doing this, my vote for #1 seed goes to Hoosiers, followed closely by Remember the Titans. It's funny, that I'm a PE teacher and coach but I don't particularly care for many sports movies. Some others that I do like are Field of Dreams, Coach Carter, Miracle, and Radio. There's probably a few others that I can't recall at the moment, but overall I find most sports movies to be poorly done, unrealistic, corny, and cliche. And I especially dislike golf movies. Don't get me started on Tin Cup...
