This kid definitely has some hops. We have to be able to solve our supposed big man crisis. They are all injured and we don't have enough 6'10 or taller guys. You can get by with 6'8 and 6'9 guys ala David Lee, Udonis Haslem, and Donnell Harvey. Just have to be fierce and mean like those guys were. Wondering if we can land a 6'10 transfer this upcoming season.

If he can do that against SEC defenders it is just what we need in addition to inside presence. I don't believe that a player needs to be vocal, coaches can do that, they need to make plays, put the team on their backs when needed. We have not really had that for a while.

Seems like Medcalf thinks hudson is definitely back. I hope he’s right.

I am really interested to see what a healthy Stokes/Gak can do. Stokes isn't as tall as I would like, but with his overall bulk he can be a presence in the middle. Gak has shown flashes and I don't know how much his knee injury has impacted his growth.

The thing we really need is a guy who can get the ball in the post and make a hook shot or something basic. He doesn't have to be a dominating force, but he has to be somebody you can go to when you need a basket that at least forces a double team to open up somebody else.

We really need to solve that issue at 5. I hope Gak comes back healthy and ready to play. I really don't care about offensive production from that spot, but 10-15 points a game from that spot would be fine. The big issue is rebounding and D from the 5. There is no reason we shouldn't expect 15 rebounds a game from Gak and Hayes combined.

I am stoked about Stone nest year. I think he will blossom into an all conference player.

Butler and Michigan State coming to Gainesville next season...
Home and Home series vs Butler with UF playing at Butler in 2019-2020 season...It's not too often UF comes to Indy so i'll definitely be there for that one

I still see Bassett coming off the bench at the 4 spot, but I wouldn't mind seeing him try the 5.

He played the 5 this year. He’s bigger than Hayes and Hayes was our main 5.

I want to see a completely healthy gak before I wrote him off though.

Agree... Basset needs work defensively. I like the kid... he has shown a ton of promise. I love that little 10-15 ft jump shot he hits. If he can keep doing that and get more comfortable defensively I think he could be very good.

If you need a foul put in Bassett. BUT he does have a lot of promise.

Bassett > Gak and Hayes

Exactly, if I had my wishes the starting line up next year would be:

PG: Allen
SG: Okauru
SF: Stone
PF: Bassett
C: Hayes

Clearly I think Hudson is gone. Ballard could back up at the guard/SF spots and Gak could back up the post positions. That is a 7 man rotation you can win with and then if some of the Frosh are as good as advertised or develop, then you can add to the rotation.

Patric Young was 6’9” and turned out pretty great, as well.

To be honest I’d rather Bassett at the 5, Stone at the 4. Hayes should be a 10-15 minutes a game spark off the bench type player. He can’t get starter minutes IMO.
