THIS. We've been dysfunctional for seven freaking years. Hell, NINE different teams have made it to the FBS semifinals, and we ain't one of them. If we break into the top-10 this year it'll be a win. Top 3 ain't happening.I agree, but it's realistic. Look at the teams and coaches of those teams ahead of us, they're better teams/programs and/or have better recruiters. Jimbo will be in the top 10, probably top 5 (he even said at signing day that he'd have a top 5 class next year). UGA, Ohio State, Alabama, Miami, Texas, FSU, and Clemson will likely have a top 10 spot - so that leaves 2 other programs to fill those other top 10 spots. You have UF, Michigan, ND, Penn State, USC, LSU, Auburn and a few others. So if you look at it that way we might be lucky to land in the top 15.
I dont think Miami would have said the same thing 2-3 years agoTHIS. We've been dysfunctional for seven freaking years. Hell, NINE different teams have made it to the FBS semifinals, and we ain't one of them. If we break into the top-10 this year it'll be a win. Top 3 ain't happening.
It will be a huge wake up call to anyone who thinks Taggart can't recruit. If he can't recruit then what the hell is our guy doing?I agree, but it's realistic. Top 3-5 is ok if the numbers are close to the top teams. And its going to take three top classes or so to rebuild depth. We have the worst roster since 1979 by a large margin. Thanks Foley! If we break into the top-10 this year it'll be a win. Top 3 ain't happening.
Taggart is a douchenozzle who went 5-7 most years in the Sunbelt. One year will be enough to show him for what he is.It will be a huge wake up call to anyone who thinks Taggart can't recruit. If he can't recruit then what the hell is our guy doing?

Miami will never say that. Miami class is currently 7, and their 2018-2015 classes were 8, 12, 22, and 27 respectively. Hell, you have to go back to 2008 to find a Miami class in the top-5 (that one was #1).I dont think Miami would have said the same thing 2-3 years ago
Mullen don't seem to be great at either so it's not good for us. Mullen just don't seem to win games when he has the least talented team and right now UGA and FSU are way more talented imo and it's only getting worse because he's not recruiting well and both the others are. I don't think we close the gap with UGA while under Mullen, we might close in on FSU but not with UGA unless Smart leaves for the NFL or they get caught cheating somehow.I don't think he's a very good coach but he is a great recruiter with a lot of ties to FL.
The gator chomp. A blind dog could see taggart > Mullen in recruiting. Imo taggart is also a similar coach to Mullen. It will be a huge wake up call to anyone who thinks Taggart can't recruit. If he can't recruit then what the hell is our guy doing?
More excuses. Smh. Texas sucked for years they had a top 3 class. Miami has been irrelevant for well over a decade. They finished in the top 10. Michigan was average for almost a decade. They've had two top 10 classes. It's all about who you hire. Mullen can't recruit elite guys consistently unless he has an elite staff. His buddies from msu aren't elite. Kids show up say how the program is changing, had a great visit and then nothing. The buzz goes ice cold. We upgraded slightly over mac/WM for $36M. That's bad.THIS. Please. Hard. With a 2x4. Maybe you'll knock the Seminole out of you.Smh.
And... Derick Hunter with a cb to Georgia. This is inexcusable if it happens. Watch to see if he gets more before Wednesday.
Step away from the ledge. So I've gotta be honest. I really WANT to be a Mullen pumper. I do. He brings a ton of energy. He's spread himself around campus more than anyone since (and heck, maybe INCLUDING) SOS. I love his S&C hire and like a few of his other hires. But the recruiting end of things isn't panning out too well so far for his first full class. Unless we've got a bunch of "silent commits" (highly unlikely) we appear to be losing a few who were considered solid locks a month ago.
So is he just waiting to see where the Bama/UGA/FSU dust settles? Knowing that UGA can't take 15 DL, etc?
I understand some kids want to wait and have the big hat show in their HS gym on signing day, but there does need to be a LITTLE pressure back on them to join the band and start recruiting. Just being nice guys who "keep it real" and treat recruits "like family" won't cut it. It ain't how Saban did it and it ain't how Smart is doing it. And it ain't how Wild Willie is doing it. Yeah, I know the game-decision arguments about Smart and Taggart (that they'll game-coach their way into mediocrity) and I'm not buying that.
I am THIIIIIIIISSSS close to joining the dumper bandwagon. End of brief rant.
I'm not at the ledge yet but I've been on the plank since we hired Mullen and I've already taken a few steps forward because of how poorly he's recruited. I'll probably take a few more steps during the season but if we can manage a top 7-8 class I'll be able to take a few step backward and breathe a little. I just don't have any faith in him at allStep away from the ledge.
This staff is falling apart right before our eyes on the trail. This is ****ing awful. Trey sanders posting pro georgia stuff too. They need to turn this around and turn it around fast.Looks like he could be UGA bound....
Florida recruiting: 4-star DE Derick Hunter annoucing finalists Wednesday

DE Derick Hunter trimming list
Top-200 overall prospect Derick Hunter is ready to narrow more than his 40 scholarship offers to a group of finalists.
The 4-star defensive end from Dunbar High School (Fort Myers, Fla.) plans to announce his top 8 on Wednesday and Florida will certainly make the cut.
However, the Gators will not be atop on his list.
Hunter made his long-awaited first trip to Georiga last weekend, attending its spring game and seeing everything the program had to offer. Following his visit, he told DawgNation’s Jeff Sentell the Bulldogs are now his leader.
“Georgia is totally different than Florida,” Hunter said. “I can actually say that because I have seen that now. I can separate them now because I have actually seen Georgia with my own eyes.
“To be honest, I am not going to lie when I say that Georgia fits me more. … No offense toward Florida but [Georgia] fits me. I have seen Florida a lot, but after seeing Georgia I see now that it really kind of does fit me.”
This is not the first time Hunter has named UGA his top school. He also called the Bulldogs his leader after receiving an offer in February, despite never visiting UGA.
The Gators pulled “even” with Georgia in mid-March after Hunter attended Florida’s first spring practices. He was back in Gainesville for the second scrimmage and that visit appeared to put Florida in the driver’s seat, especially when he returned the following weekend for the Orange & Blue Game.
Flroida’s Sal Sunseri could sway Derick Hunter
Hunter strengthen his relationship with Gators defensive line coach Sal Sunseri on his latest trip. The veteran assistant even convinced him to attend Florida’s spring game instead of Miami.
“I can talk to Coach Sal about everything. He’s like a father figure to me. I know if I come to Florida, he’s going to be there and look out for me,” Hunter told SEC Country. “He doesn’t want me to go anywhere else. He wants me to be a Gator. He heard I was going to Miami and hit me up ASAP. He got my mind right and I had to go back to the Swamp.”
Sentell gave his thoughts on Hunter’s bond with Sunseri in the story:
“Hunter really likes what he had seen up to this point in Gainesville. When he speaks about his relationship with Florida defensive line coach Sal Sunseri, Hunter puts a lot of emphasis on his words. Syllables are stressed. He wants them to mean something. Sunseri is a great recruiter. He had a hand in building up that college football dynasty at Alabama.”

The 6-foot-4, 276-pound pass rusher is ranked the nation’s No. 13 strongside defensive end and No. 187 overall prospect in the 247Sports composite. Despite Hunter’s glowing comments about Georgia, his recruitment is far from over.
He has already had a turbulent process thus far, including a de-commitment from Miami and a few different front-runners. There will likely be more shakeups to his leaderboard before Hunter is ready to make a final decision.
