I agree with this and I didn't like Guardians at all, easily the Marvel movie I liked the least. Maybe I just came to accept it and the whole space theme had to eventually join the main avenger theme.but didn't like what they did in the last Thor movie, don't really like the Guardians of the Galaxy story line, and think they've tried to insert too much, missed placed comedy into the dialogue. When I choose to watch an action movie, I don't mind some humor, but don't try to turn it into an action comedy. That's what I expect to see in a Dwayne Johnson/Kevin Hart movie.
Ultimately, its a comic book movie. It has to make some choices about being true to the theme generally (though i read the real infinity gem war wasn't the avengers at all), rather than become more pseudo believable like some of the other space scifis. I mean, the avengers were hunting nazis after all, and this was before the Democrats started imagining nazis also.
