Since the only coaches I compared to were the coaches we were looking to hire I thought it was obvious.Just a thought, but if your point was to argue Mullen as a better hire for UF than Kelly or Frost, then don’t wait until post #58 to say so.
Frost was my top hope. I did not want Kelly. It’s impossible to know how either would have done recruiting to UF. But to run with your comparison...
Kelly is in the middle of a fantastic recruiting ground. Yes, UCLA is second fiddle in LA but there are so many recruits and it isn’t like USC is blowing doors yet either (#36 this morning.) Bizarre to have no one yet. No one - per Rivals and 247.
When Nebraska was truly great, they were pulling elite recruits out of Florida plus a few felons to salt speed in with the strength of midwestern linemen. Thus far, Frost has zero Florida commitments for 2019. He did get 3 4-star and 3 3-star guys from Florida in his transition class, 5 of them skill position players.
Mullen is clearly out recruiting Kelly so far this year, as is literally everyone else. True so far this year for Frost but it’s so early.
And the 2018 classes are too close to call. Look at 247 then look at Rivals. No real separation.
FYI I liked Frost also but him being a Nebraska player it was a slam dunk he was going to Nebraska where people loved him like when Spurrier went to UF. They will give him the benefit of the doubt unlike UF.
Neither one of the two has outrecruited Mullen so far.
