It's going to be a fun season on the Chatter. First off, raffles will be returning in August. Entering raffles is done with Oxbucks, so you'll finally be able to do something with them. I'll do my best to provide prizes worth entering the raffles for.

Secondly, it's time for Pick 'Em! The rules are simple. Every week, you'll be picking the winners for all the SEC games, and 5 other random games from around the country. The picks will not be straight up, but will be made against the spread. For those who have no freaking clue how the spread works, it will be explained further as we get closer to the season.

Each correct pick will be a point, and points standings will be kept throughout the season. At the end of the season (which will run through the NC game), the member with the most points will win the grand prize: a 45 to 55 inch LED Smart TV (details to follow at a later date). How to play is as follows:

Hit the "Pick Em" tab. You'll see a button showing "Available Pools" - click it.

Then click "Join Pool".

Now that you've joined the pool, you'll need to manage your picks. It's part of the tab dropdown.

The weekly picks will now appear on your screen. This will show the point spreads and percentage bars representing the picks that have already been made by others. For you to make your own picks, you'll need to click the blue "Make Your Picks" button.

At this point you'll be able to make your picks, and save them at the bottom.

After your picks are made and saved, the team you chose will show up in bold, as well as a check mark on the far right.

And that's how you make your picks. The system will be sending out reminders so you don't forget to make your picks. You can make changes to your picks at any time up until they lock before the games.

If you want to have a real shot at winning the grand prize, you aren't going to be able to miss weeks. The standings and some other information will be shown in the sidebar throughout the season.

Discuss.

There is a sample 4 games up right now, so go ahead and join and make your picks as a trial run. The matchups and point spreads are just random, so don't take them seriously.

Ox is upgrading his TV?

But sounds like fun. I normally don't do the pick threads cuz Carib's rules are confusing.

I'll be in on this, but I'm still gonna have the ESPN Pick 'Em up this year, as well, since I have to defend my back to back titles. :proud:

I’ve lost interest every year when we start tanking. I suspect I’m not the only one.

It's a long season, and picking against the spread is hard. Whoever wins the damn thing will have earned that TV.

I've been known to "tsk-tsk" and "tut-tut" some of the lame sht the administration does around here, and while the tv prize is overkill, IMO, I have to stop and admire this effort. It's set up, it works, and it has a great set of instructions that also work. Yeah, there's a prize to make it feel like it's worth more than bragging rights. This almost appears well thought out and executed :sadnanner:

So, with nothing else to btch about, I'll btch about not having anything to btch about. Well done, Ox. Well done. :swampqueen:

I don't think so. I want people to play, not lose interest after 3 weeks like they do in the ESPN Pick 'Em. I'd like some form of a prize for the top 5 or so. We'll see.

I'd also like to give weekly winners a bunch of Oxbucks or something.

For my bro's here., don't send any dic pics to GatorPie, it's one of ox's alias, as seen in his screenshots of how to play this pick em game.

This should be a blast, college is so fun because you just never know how these young kids will respond week to week. Another blast was the scoring contest, I realize now that not everyone on here studied higher math, which caused many to struggle to understand how points were assigned. I will hold off on running the scoring contest as this appears to be a legitimate replacement as the prize is better. Can I get an amen!!

Go Gators!!

Yeah, this might actually work as long as you are in no way, shape, or form involved with organizing or managing the results.
