Washington has only given up 2 runs total in the Series and shut out Oklahoma twice. I'd say they have a pitching edge in this one.

The King girl is damn good, Washington will see her twice.
Washington looks like the better team more well-rounded better defensively better baserunning but Meghan King is a hot picture for Seminoles. I feel for the Gator girls because if they watch the championship series and see Florida State there that's going to sting a little.

The Seminoles don't look like the most impressive softball team I've seen in recent years but they get the job done again they take game 1 buy a score of 1 to nothing behind a brilliant gutty performance by Meghan King. The only good thing about this is that this girl King is pulling a Danielle Lawrie on the University of Washington. If you remember Danielle Lawrie was an unbelievable Workhorse for Washington who beat the mighty Gators in 2009 championship series which still bothers me.

I think Washington will make a couple small adjustments at the plate and have a very good chance to win game 2. If FSU chooses to rest Megan King and save her for a potential game 3 I think that would be a mistake.

I've been a Gator fan all of my 66 short years on earth. And I have a question for Gator fans. If you had a must win game who would you rather have on the mound, Kelly Barnhill or Meghan King? Lauren Haeger or Kelly Barnhill? Hannah Rogers or Kelly Barnhill? Stacey Nelson or Kelly Barnhill? Just asking.

There's no doubt about it Ocala man. I've been hard on Barnhill but I've got to let it go now because it probably hurts her to watch the championship series with Florida State and not Florida there.

This is an excellent question and a difficult one. I would probably go with Stacey, but can I have Lauren batting and Hannah in relief?

Haeger was the best all around player UF has ever had. Stacey Nelson was a bulldog and handled almost all the pitching duties before Walton and others coaches went to the "staff" approach.Rogers probably had the least physical talent of the group, but her senior year, especially in the NCAA tournament, she went into another gear and was spectacular. Barnhill has had a super first 3 years overall, but in big games she's not handling the pressure as well as the others did - at least so far. She still has her senior year and I'm glad she's back for another shot.

Exactly.

Florida has some excellent veterans coming back and some good young players developing.

I'd like to see a game 3 in the waves.

Only thing I might could slightly disagree with here is you have to put ocasio at the same level as Haeger. Ocasio is arguably the best all around ball player ever to come through the program. She is as close to a “5 tool” player we will ever see in softball.

Florida State played a Flawless game 1 to beat Washington. But they played like stumblebums defensively in the top of the first inning and gave up three runs to the Huskies. Lol I did not expect that. They looked like high schoolers.

Jesse Warren just went yard to deep center. Florida State leads unbelievably 8-3 in the bottom of the 4th. No one saw this coming.

Say what? Have you watched these 2 games. I hate FSU and never pull for them to win anything. But this softball has won 6 elimination games, a women's softball record and they have dominated Washington. King has been a stud in the circle, Jessie Warren has been the superstar that she is and several of the more average players have played above their heads. They have earned this title big time. No way our Gators could have beaten this FSU team the way they have played in the WCWS.

We may not like fsu but the Nole chicas survived 6 elimination games to win the title. Damn. Meghan King just had the best era in wcws history and didn't even win mvp. LOL! Great lefty pitching beats great lefty led lineups.

Beth Mowens capped off a crazy season by saying Tuscaloosa instead of Tallahassee. That made me laugh and no doubt dozens of others too. ;)

Softball is growing big in Florida. Noles win their first title on their 9th wcws visit. I had no idea they have been to the wcws so many times. The Gators have 2 titles and 5 trips to the championship series in the last 10 seasons. Amazing.

I wrote my comment how UW looked like the better team before they played these 2 games. LOL!

I am with you with disdain for FSU but it's not quite so bad with the softball girls. Meghan King > Jaemis Winston. Part of me is glad to see this state doing so well in softball. Its not just the arrogant west coast anymore.

FSU got on a magic carpet ride. The Gators could have beaten them. Maybe not. Its a moot point now. Noles are in better leaner shape as a team. Long games and long season did not faze them a bit.

Walton needs to stay and keep recruiting because the softball recruiting battle between FSU and Florida is going to get fierce.
