Davis may have the starting role by the opening game. Scarlett won't beat him out if he gets back close to 100%.

Did he have an ACL? Guys tend to be a little tentative for a while, often a year, after one of those. Davis is a better back for the edge stuff Mullinz wants to run, but Scarlett isn't chopped liver either.

Yep he had an ACL. Your thoughts are like mine. I could see Davis having an ok year this year and then exploding as a true JR.

Yep it may be a few games in if he is lucky but some RBs are not in top form until well after a year with those.

It'll be almost 10 full months. We have options though. I'm curious if Scarlett found his credit card yet....

My impression was that Malik's main attribute was how fast he hit the hole.
1) Is that true?
2) Does his style fit Mullen's offense?
3) How is his pass catching ability?

Like others, I think Davis is the best talent we've had at RB in ages - the excitement at his return is fully justified. But Heggie's return to full speed is just as important, and due to the reccurring problems on the OL, he might be a bigger addition, at least at first, than Davis. Having those two back at full speed by the 3rd or 4th game would be huge.

I think the excitement about Davis is that he tore an ACL and while Heggie had a knee injury he was expected by fall. Davis on the other hand was more uncertain. That said, I agree that Heggie's return is maybe more important of the two since UF has depth at RB but less so at OL.

Don't you think with Jones at QB you'll probably see the roles invert, with the backs going inside and the QB taking the outside read?

I think that is the norm, even w Mullinz. We only inverted it bc of Tebow (and he did the same for Dak).

I think the QB just reads the DE mostly and that determines most things on those running plays. That QB at Miss St ran inside quite a bit. With Franks adjustments would be needed.

Yeah BMF, Scarlett showed his prowess by overrunning his credit card.
Uggh, Malik should have gotten cleared on-field by 4 Bama LBs.

One of the biggest things to look for in fall camp is weather or not Heggie moves to Center. That will cause a bit of a ripple effect along the line w/ McCoy taking a back seat. I really hope someone displaces Fred Johnson at OG. He's our biggest liability.

Let's say only one guy gets replaced on the OL, who would you rather it be? McCoy or Johnson?
