Look at UF's September schedule this year:
1 Sept: Charleston So.
8 Sept: UK
15 Sept: Co. State
22 Sept: at UTn
29 Sept: at Miss State
So UF almost half, 5/12th, of UF season will be over in September. Not only might we know a lot about Mullen's tenure at UF when September goes into October, the two road games in late September may really determine the season.
Everyone will be worried if UF loses any of the first 3 games. Many people have UF losing one or both of the late September road games. If UF comes out of September 4-1, I think many people will be optimistic. If UF comes out of September 3-2, I think people will be worried. If UF comes out of September any worse than 3-2, I think the fan base will already begin to turn. That two game road trip is crucially important for this team and for Mullen's start at UF.
Toss in a home game against LSU the first week of and the season is half gone by 7 October. If UF is anything worse than 4-2 at that point, it will be ugly around here.
