Why go to the west? He could have stayed and dominated the east.

We can only guess why. Philly made more sense from a championship readiness perspective, but Philly is Philly and LA is glitz and glamour.

Then, too, maybe LeBron wanted to limit his exposure to Cleveland out of deference. Dunno.

Durant signed a 1 and 1 contract with GS. Does he want to see how it goes for James in year 1 and go to LA after this coming season?

I suspect James wants the Lakers for branding. It's a huge storied franchise. Also I suspect he wants to play for Magic who I think James sees himself most like.

Also I love that Stephenson signed with LA. I guess James likes him blowing in his ear.

I’m just upset I’ll no longer get to watch him lose in the finals. Looks like I’ll have to settle for him losing in the conference finals instead
I don't see them being able to surround him with enough talent this year to get out of the 1st round. I think they will probably be like the 6-7 seed and lose in the 1st to whoever they play.

I think 4-5 with James is the ceiling but still don’t see them winning out. The big problem
Is who does he get with him. They can do one more max and then it’s chopping pieces that fit in the cap. He will want them to sell the future for him. The cavs are going to be lucky to win 25 next year the shape he left them in.

Exactly who are they going to sign now that George is not an option, Boogie is the only real option cause San Antonio ain't going to send Leonard to LA now that LJ is there. They didnt want him in the West anyway. I'm not sure if his thinking on this move. There isn't really any major FA next year either so I dont think he will get much help for the 1st few years unless someone is stupid and makes a trade for Ball which is an average player at best.

You think Ball is average?

With Boogie going to Warriors there is no one left. They signed Rondo and that might be the best they can get unless they start trading stuff off.

I still think LeBron is good enough to get them to a 5 seed.

I'm just a casual NBA fan with no team. I've always pulled for Lebron just because I enjoy being able to see once in a lifetime athletes excel like Gretzky & Jordan. But to me the Lakers are like the Yankees, Red Sox & Cowboys, all I care to do is watch them lose. Hopefully Billy D will finally do something with OKC and I'll have a team to pull for!

Uh, wouldn't Jordan and Lebron be "twice in a lifetime athletes"?

It wouldn't bother me if LA didn't win a game next year.

I have a feeling Bron is going to suffer a major injury..... just a feeling..

I'd be stunned if they make it to the 5 seed

Lonzo ball is not that good. No jumpshot and shot 40 percent from the free throw line. He ok on defense but he's not a dog on the ball. His promoted the heck out of him. A terrible pick last year imo

Wouldn’t be the first PG who can excel without a solid jumper. I want to see what he looks like in a year or two before casting judgement

LB will make him a better player but even then I'm not sure he will ever be an all star. He could develop into a solid player but I dont think hes gonna be a reason LJ wins a title in LA if he gets one.

I imagine Ball’s assist numbers will skyrocket. Will be an interesting dynamic since LBJ has the ball go through him though.
