Bon looked so Tebowish it is eerie.

Yeah, he has been out of football for a while, but at this point if he has actually PLAYED in HS, and has actual highlight film, no HS practice against your own JV doesnt count, then he is a clear improvement vs what we have on the depth chart now
Yeah, I've already seen his highlights. But that was 6 years ago and it doesn't just blow you away. Yeah he's got more upside than franks or trask but i wouldn't say hes more talented than ej. Like i said , i won't lose any sleep either way . I guess I'm still butthurt we didn't go after burrow.
Idk why that old post in this one

For the guys that are into stats:

Senior Year:

186/265: 70% completion rate
Pass yards/game:191.0 yards/game
Rush yards/game: 43.6 yards/game
99 carries for 611 rushing yards: 6.2 yards/carry
35 pass TD's: 1 INT
10 rushing TD's

Total High School Career:

579/795 attempts: 73% completion rate
Pass yards/game: 167 yards/game
Total passing yards: 7848 yards
Total rushing yards: 2065 yards
80 pass TD's: 11 INT's
32 rushing TD's

I think he deserves a chance as a preferred walk-on.

His completion percentage and TD to interception ratio, particularly his senior year, really stand out to me. I don't see where we really have anything to lose by bringing him on board.

We could definitely use another dual threat QB. Look at the kid's stats from Manatee. He can play. He would probably be the starter from day 1.

I don't think day 1 but he would start once he settled in after a year imo. My ? Is how will he get in? Take a placement test?

No need to offer him a scholarship immediately because the Phillies are going to pay his tuition and books for the first year. Yeah maybe he doesn't start day 1 because the other QBs have been through a whole spring and summer conditioning program. On paper he looks like the most talented QB and best fit on our roster.

How in the world do you figure he's more talented than Emory Jones?

EJ isnt the most talented passer.
He's has more talent as a passer and a runner, even when sandberg was 18. Sandberg hasn't played in 6 years. He's not gonna move the needle even a little bit when it comes to improving our qb troubles in the near future.
Edit: 6 years ago, sanberg was the more polished passer of the 2.

and video of THE GAME I believe was what SOS always remembered to
make him want to humiliate UGA the rest of his life..........Great video of SOS and Larry Smith and unfortunately Bill Stanfield from uga.........notice a LB #1 for Fla. Jack Card. Like 5'7 and 165 lbs, He coached one year at my HS,

And it gets better from old videos. Ed Sullivan mixes SOS up with FLoyd Little and then calls him back out saying from THE UNIV. of Miami. The other funny thing was Bob Griese in the video with a scowl on his face..........STILL upset about the Heisman vote Im guessing...........

"According to a story in the Reading (Pa.) Eagle, Sandberg has already received an offer from Auburn. He also has been given an opportunity to be a preferred walk-on at LSU and Florida."

No he's probably not more talented than Emory Jones. But he's probably mentally and physically more ready to play now than the other QBs. We don't have a lot to go off of yet either. I think Emory is the future. I would be totally fine if mullen wanted to just throw EJ in there and start getting him ready now.

the idea that he's less talented than EJ is questionable. Both were 5. 9 hi four stars on rivals. it's certainly not clear either way or at least it wasn't clear to the rivals Scouts who do this for a living and do it pretty well.

I'm also not sure that he's better prepared because he's older. He hasn't touched a football helmet in years.

regardless the fact that we haven't offered him a scholarship says he's not likely in our plans. we are not short on scholarships and can't give them away at the moment.

We don't need to use a scholly for him anyways. The Phillies are paying his tuition and books this year. He should come here because it's the best opportunity to play. Ucf and AU have QBs.
