It’s a shame you don’t care for IPAs as SD has some of the best IPAs in the land coming from Green Flash, Ballast Point, Pizza Port, Stone etc.
A summer shandy lemon thingy is way more fru-fru (similar the Starbucks dbl mocha latte frap) than an IPA is. An IPA is just a pale ale with more hops, so it’s more like an extra strong cup of joe.

I’m not saying an IPA is like a frapachino. I’m saying it’s like Starbucks bitter burnt regular coffee. Don’t like the flavor.

New Belgium makes its second appearance on the review . This is their tripel . It’s surprisingly light and smooth for an 8.5 %. If you like the taste of cinnamon this ones for you. Not the worst way to kick off a Friday night . B plus

A Night on Ponce IPA by 3 taverns craft.

This one is pretty simple . If you’re an IPA fan it’s a go otherwise stay away . The hops are present heavily right away , but don’t linger which is nice . However the 7 percent kicks in on the aftertaste after a smooth finish . Solid B

With the positive reviews of Rogue I decided to give them a shot . This is the Combat wombat , an IPA of theirs . Unfortunately the dead guy ale wasn’t on tap so I went with this one . The first thing that jumps out to me was the fusion of grapefruit . It’s not particularly hoppy or strong . I think Sofla would really like it based on some of his previous posts. For me it’s a decent beer, but I won’t be ordering again or pickup up a sixer of it anytime soon. C plus .

All IPAs suck.

The bitter shytty leftover beer when they ran out of malt. It isbthe stuff they gave the bottom rung sailors sailing from England to India.

I love it when hipsters go to Europe and get pissed they cant find their trash beer over there.

A Friday evening at Law's house isn't completed without a few Virginia slims and the following:

As has been said, there's a beer for almost every occasion. Much of it is an acquired taste, and some just doesn't fit your particular profile. Few people love scotch or red wine their first sip. It's typically over time that people acquire a taste and recognize their likes and dislikes. I'm not as much a pilsner or lager guy, but I don't knock those who never stray beyond that, and there are times when it's just the right time for that beer. Rarely do I go "lite", but I've probably forgotten more quarters of football due to Amstel light(and bourbon) than any other beer. I drink stouts probably least of all, but certain settings just call for it. You can make an argument for just about any beer.

Whatever. The malt content isn’t diminished; it’s the hops that are amped up. Some imperial IPAs have double the malt.
You may be able to BS your way through most stuff, but not beer, at least not in my presence.
You don’t think those sailor’s were happy to have any beer at all - bet they didn’t complain.
And if/when I get to Europe, the last thing I’d look for is an IPA. For one, I’d like to try all the traditional styles like a Pilsner from Checkerslovaki (sp), bitter from England, or stout from Ireland. Second, the best IPAs are made right here in the good ol USA, so why travel half way round the world to drink an inferior product.

Law made his last post with Abba blaring in the background while taking a nice long drag of a vagina slim .
