This was my little girl. Had her 13 years ever since she was 8 weeks old, but had to put her down a few months ago. She actually did look like an Ewok.

My neighbor in Jax had one of those many years ago. Gotta be the cutest critters on the planet.

We lost 2 within a week of each other last year, Actually last year we lost 3. First was Lady, Supposed to be a mini aussie but wasn't, Was albino and couldn't hear and barely see. We were training her using hand signs. She was doing good then caught Parvo..... I missed giving her a booster, totally my fault. Blubbered like a baby when they put her down, She paid for my mistake.
The 2 within a week were Lexi, A pound rescue and Amber, AKC Golden. They always wandered together and even the Vet doesn't know what they got into. Lexi never backed down from anything and even chased the neighbor's Pit away from Granddaughter.
Lilly didn't get into what the others got into so she's OK, She's a, well supposed to be, A mini pincher(sp?) but I think mostly wiener dog. Absolute terror to lizards.
Lacy (what's with all the "L" names?) is the newest and wackiest. A Border Collie who, until we got her, Never had a human of her own. Went from being chained up 24-7 to a house with 5 kids and 12 dogs to us. Now won't leave my side... Take a dump, She's outside of door, Other animal near me she gets in between. Still working on fixing her bad habits.... Think she'll make a great agility dog for the 4H kids. Beautiful animal. I'll dig up a pic of the 2 monsters.

Remember, A dog is part of our life while we are ALL of their life.

Had many in my life but the best still remains the first one me and my wife had together. He was 5-6 at the pound when we found him. Perfectly named Jethro and was a redbone/lab mix. Smart as hell to even if lazy. He thought our son was for him when we brought him home. Never left his side and I have pictures still of him cuddling next to him on the couch as a newborn. Unfortunately he passed away a few days before my sons first birthday in 2013 from a sudden medical issue. That one was hard.

Now we have Ellie May who is a rescued Treeing Walker. Got her in 2011 and she’s the guard dog that runs the house.

Ranger is our 12 year old chocolate lab. We got him in 2015 in one of those situations where his owners were elderly and passed away.

Cheerio came a few months later as a stray Beagle. Was still a pup and was Just supposed to be fostered but he immediately bonded with my son who was 2 at the time.

Unfortunately we also inherited two cats when our old shi**y neighbors moved off without them.

Thanks for rescuing those animals. All of our dogs are rescues. They are every bit as good as anything you can buy at a breeder. Seems like a travesty to me to breed and sell dogs when there are so many out there that will get euthanized because no one will take them in.

Yes indeed. Rescued animals just have something about them like they know what was going to happen and are eternally grateful for it. Would never go to a breeder again.

Our yellow lab Birdie hamming it up.

I thought when the soundtrack started we were going be treated to another adventure of Ozzie and Harriet. Why doesn't Nugz get his own video?

This is Mya and Lady or Ladybug. We adopted them from Puppy hill Farm in Gainesville. Mya we adopted in 2006 and Lady was actually our foster dog for 6 months and we adopted her in 2008. Little to our knowledge, Lady made up her mind where she wanted to be.

They are still kicking, but old as dirt. We think Mya could be as old as 16 and Lady as old as 14, which is old for 50 lb mutts. Mya has cataracts now and had a stroke a few months ago, but she's doing just fine for an old old dog. They have turned out to be the best dogs and are great with our girls. We don't have much time left with them unfortunately, but they have been amazing.

This is Figgy, short for Figaro. My daughter wanted a black & white cat named Figaro, just like Minnie Mouse. We got him at Christmas time, and my kids heard the line “so bring us some figgy pudding” from We Wish You a Merry Christmas so the nickname Figgy stuck. As you can see, he has one eye (or as we like to say, a permanent wink), so we also call him our pirate cat.

How did he lose the eye? I have a female with almost the exact same color and markings.
