Totally agree @Since65 -- Will has done great work already bringing this type of writing to Gainesville.

It is a long form feature on Van and his journey from being his (somewhat) famous father's son to his own man and how the decision to transfer to Florida really showed that. Came off looking like an extremely hard working, talented kid who is mature beyond his years.

Was a subscriber to Sports Illustrated for 40+ years. Just ended that this spring and signed up for The Athletic. Their baseball coverage is excellent and as mentioned, their college football coverage has already improved. It appears they have a writer who will be a regular on the Gator beat.

It's long form journalism like you don't find much anymore what with 10-second attention spans and such.

Googled what that meant and it said:

"The average IQ of people typing TLDR in Internet forums is about 64. Since I am a lonely masturbating boy with no brain I have no capacity to read all you said, but due to my lonely social life I still feel like typing something in this thread, I will type TLDR."

Very good read on Van Jefferson from The Athletic. Think he will be a tremendous addition to the program on and off the field.

Not sure of the posting policy since it's a pay site.

‘He had to overcome being my son’: How Van Jefferson...

The Athletic has already improved their college football coverage in general and Gator coverage in particular.

Douglas says that all we have is hope that Van Jefferson will succeed at UF. Douglas is wrong often.
