Mostly when I go to Baja it is for a race and it gets pretty hectic. This past weekend however I went on a fun ride with a bunch of friends and acquaintances. It was nice to just chill and do some exploring. Here is some video of the trip. Cars, cameras, radios, drones...all kinds of fun tech and gadgets.

Really badass Zambo. I wish you bring that ride up here and take my 4 yo out in it. That’s all he wants to do. He saw a brochure about the ATVs in Pismo Beach, on the dunes, and that what he wants for his birthday. Ride the ATV.

Think GPD would mind if you brought that to a tailgate?

Awesome, looks like a lot of fun. And whoever does the videos does a pretty good job.

You operate that drone with your feet while you drive the vehicle?
You'll notice that there isn't any drone footage of my car going down the trail. I'd just ride ahead of everybody and get it set up.

Actually, I think they have some small drones now that will follow you automatically.
I don't know how good they are or how fast they can go

They aren't good or fast enough. They lose lock and they can't keep up.

Seems like the good drones would be prime for an add on that could make it lock on and follow.

Anyway, these videos are cool, always like watching them.
Keep em comin

There are different tracking methods. One way is the camera gets a contrast lock on a person or vehicle and then follows it, but of course when trees or shadows get in the way it loses lock and goes dumb. The faster the subject travels the more easily it loses lock. In practice they don't work very well. They also have some that have the ability to track the controller, so theoretically if you have the controller in the car it will follow you, but those have their issues as well and aren't as common. Plus most of the current common drones only go about 30mph or so, which is enough is slower sections but it will quickly fall behind on most stuff. Some of the newer drones coming out are faster and supposedly have better tracking abilities. We'll see.
