Damn! Feel sick for the kid. Hope he has a quick recovery. But, I agree. Pierce deserves to be the starter in my opinion. He looks like our best running back.

Dan was asked at the Monday presser about him. Says Dameon is earning more touches, but has to get little things like route running and blocking assignments polished.

I get that Scarlett may be better at pass protection at this point, but he’s looked suspect catching the ball. If it’s 3rd and 2 against Tennessee, I think Mullen would be foolish to hand anyone else the ball before Pierce. He’s a beast.

Yeah, that sounds completely normal for a freshman RB. I'm excited for his future here, though.

It sure is unfortunate about Davis. He's a real talent.

I like Malik. Very smooth runner. He'll be back.

But, Dameon Pierce is about to explode onto the college football landscape. It's time.

Agreed. Plus, think about next year: Scarlett moves on, Perine is the savvy vet, and Davis/Pierce are fighting it out for starter. RB is our healthiest position group.

This might be a blessing in disguise, gives his knee an extra year to heal. I hate it is happening to a good kid. At least he won't lose a year of eligibility.

I’d say the kid can’t catch a break, but that’s exactly what just happened to him.

An "extended period of time" is all that accompanied the announcement, but I'm not sure it's worth the risk to rush him back.
