He'll be coming here as our quality control coordinator in two seasons.

The three coaches many of us had a chub for in the offseason are a combined 3-13. Mullen is 5-1 with a win against a top 5 team. We clearly dodged a few grenades

Well I admit that Cousin Eddie was #2 on my list of "Coaches I do not want", but I always said Chip Kelly was #! by a longshot. I think he sux as a total coach. so I guess I am batting .500 currently. Puts me in the HOF in baseball and on the outside looking in for coaching hires!

I never wanted Taggart.... ever... his record was not the only red flag. Bolting from Oregon after one season is very poor form.

Kelly was last on my list because of the recruiting angle. If I remember correctly, I think Venables and Frost were tops on my list.

I guess the question is did Nebraska & UCLA have better teams at the end of last year than the Gators. I would have bet the mortgage just as good if not better than the Gators after the McElwain disaster. So who was left with a better cupboard of talent for each coach: Nebraska, UCLA, or Gators? If we get at least 9 wins Mullen gets coach of the year.

I gotta admit, I was all about chip, but if the rumors about his reasons for turning us down are true, namely that it’s too much pressure at UF, then UCLA is getting exactly the loser they deserve. Good riddance

UF never offered Chip and I do not believe they intended to. Perhaps they suspected he would never last, was not an SEC guy, perhaps that he was not a committed college coach. More though I think they wanted Mullen all along.
