I think you were there, right? Danielson made several comments about the WRs not getting open. I know Franks gets and even deserves blame but it's not all him.[/QU

No I couldn’t make it to Gainesville and now I really regret it.

I thought the same....coverage was tight and although no sacks there were several hurries.

My main point was the progress he made in throwing balls away rather than taking sacks, running for a loss or throwing pics as he often did last year when under pressure.

It hurt his completion percentage but helped keep drives alive. Progress.

I think the kid is a gamer and starting to grow up right in front of ours eyes. This kid has a chance to get really good.

He can make the worst play you've ever seen, and he just shakes it off and goes to the next one. You can't rattle him or embarrass him. Right when a defense thinks he's horrible, he turns into Ben Roethlisberger and makes some ridiculous play.

Yeah, I was so wrong about him.

The absolute biggest problem we've had at QB since Tebow was a string of QBs whose bad plays FAR outweighed the good, and that includes Franks from last season. This year, Franks has finally given us a glimpse that that streak is over. We've always said we don't need an All-American at QB, just someone who can make enough plays and not turn the ball over like it's his major. Franks hasn't been spectacular this year, but he's made some seriously beautiful throws and handled pressure a hell of a lot better than he did last year. And he hasn't been a turnover machine. I'm just hoping he keeps a level head and continues to work hard and improve moving forward.

Franks does a good job extending plays with his feet. He keeps his eyes down field and makes plays. It's very impressive just because I didn't think he was capable. Roethlisberger is exactly the player I thought of on Saturday watching Franks.

My concern with the INT in the end zone was what came after. It seemed to me they didn’t allow Franks to throw again and went to the run and we had at least three straight 3 and outs.

Dan admitted in the presser today that he’s gotten too conservative at points where their backs have been to the wall in the last two games.

Watched the game again to make sure my eyes weren’t fooling me as I watched Franks go all the way through his - gasp - progressions.

Dan whispers up some serious lemonade from those lemons he got left.

While I do agree, my biggest concern was if he would start moping. This team still makes a lot of mistakes. And, honestly, they still are plagued by a lot of the same issues from a year ago. The difference is that they actually believe they can win. This team had a penchant for quitting when things didn't go well. I wanted to see if Franks would drop his head, but he came back the next drive poised and ready to go. That's what I'm most impressed by.
I'm fine with the conservative play calling because the field position was not in our favor.

Franks surely gives a booster shot to the normal up and down emotions one has against a rival on a stage like Saturday.
I was out of my mind after that throw he put over Grimes’ head and into the stands in the first quarter (okay, into the stands is embellishing a little), but WTF was that?!
:gah:
He does throw some nice passes and is proving to be a tough kid. Keep getting better FFS.

He’s learning and improving every week. That was my hope coming into the season and remains so. He’s got a long way to go but I sure like his perseverance and his talent.

Seems to me, Franks can fire that sideline quick-hit pass before the DB can defend. He can do that against any DBs until they come in tight. Intertwine that with quick-hit runs by Pierce (our quickest hitter) et al. Then expand our passing game. In other words, work the field. Take advantage of Franks' rifle arm.

That will change when he gets some comfort level.

What won't change is that deep down, he really wants to run Q power.

You ain't lyin'.....

He's doing what he can with what he has, and digging deep. This guy can call a game.

But you know there's QB runs he's just itching to get his hands on that he can't abuse right now. I wonder if he'll be content to let Franks be the guy for three years while three DT QBs wait. Looks like it, but Franks runs like a fawn.

Just imagine what poison it will be for a defense that has to watch one of the Jones boys or one day Richardson put the ball in Pierce's belly and then decide who to defend. RB run? QB run? Pass? Yeah.

I suppose Jalon can redshirt, Anthony too. Barring an injury to Felipe before he graduates, one of the three will get his chance to start in year four of this coaching regime. But that also means a redshirt for Pierce makes sense. He and Emory at least will remain in the same class.

Think most fans see a better Franks. Would be hard not to be better than last years version. Lol. Before the season I honestly thought there was no way Franks could hold onto the QB job this far into the season, guess he proved plenty of us doubters wrong.

Franks is an intense nut job head case. I’m starting to like him a lot. He’s off the rails... with a cannon for an arm. Can he control the FFS? Surpass it? Overcome? Mullen bees whispering. Go Gators!
