Can I just point out that this place is now a bona fide rival to Gator Country, to the extent that they now refer to it as "the other site" (TOS)? This place has only been around for a few years.

I don't think anyone disputes that GC has been the biggest Gator fan forum for decadesdand has really only been challenged by large-network sites like Scout and Rivals.

So props to Ox for building up a successful independent site from virtually nothing. That's harder than it sounds.

Yes, we're all ultimately on the same team. But those who run the message boards have completely different philosophies on how to do it. It's like night and day.

Yeah, there's something off about him. He definitely doesn't understand how forums work. I think he felt like he was single handedly saving the recruiting class by pumping because as we all know recruits decide where to go based on message boards.

Fair enough. Do you think he would have found us either way? I suppose your thread confirms that we are the mean girls and you are the Führer referenced at Swamp Gas. If that's the case, then the net was beneficial to ensure he saw us. It still seems petty that we would be so concerned and go on the offensive against some looney-byrd that went and complained somewhere else. I think we come off as overprotective and/or butthurt.

Regardless, this is your board, you shape the culture, and I am clearly in the very small minority regarding how we ought to act. Maybe one day I'll learn not to share my take on stuff like this. ...but I doubt it. I'd rather share and get the flogging.

I actually went over to Swamp Gas and found a "favorite" among the Gator Chatter members on this board, L Boy. He did mention he was perma banned here. He also brought up Swonky and his "100,000 posts."

From what I understand he ASKED for Ox to permaban him so he wouldn’t be tempted to return. He has an incurable case of TDS and simply can’t cope with logical dissenting viewpoints against liberal thought.
