Well, there you have it. Let's move one of our best WR's to Safety.....for no reason. Great thread!

I agree. I came here to post the same thing. Position changes aren't easy. It's very difficult to switch positions and excel at said position.Quintin Dunbar....and that's literally an NFL "success story". It's so rare that everyone brings it up because there are literally NO other examples of it. It's like saying "he's the next Percy" - ummmm, no he's not. Cleveland is a WR. Period.
I didn't start the thread BTW, but I do see his point. You said it almost never happens, not true.
Making an NFL roster isn't easy. But there are plenty of examples of it happening. Whether Cleveland could do it or would even want to is another argument but act like it never happens, it does.I agree. I came here to post the same thing. Position changes aren't easy. No there aren't. You're embellishing. Give me some examples.Making an NFL roster isn't easy. But there are plenty of examples of it happening. Whether Cleveland could do it or would even want to is another argument but act like it never happens, it does.
Sherman changed his Jr year at USC. Adoree Jackson came into the league as a receive I believe. You think Sanders couldn't have been WR in the NFL? How about Hines Ward. Edelman was a QB in College. Waverly Jackson play OG at Indy but was a DT at VT. I have given several examples and you aren't acknowledging them. That's on you.Prove it @Swamp Donkey. Show me where the guys are that are switching positions and going to the NFL. And I don't mean Freshmen changing positions, but established upperclassmen.
Alex JUST did it.No there aren't. You're embellishing. Give me some examples.
He didn't give me jack s#!t! He named 2 players. I like to call that an exception not a rule. You're a lawyer, right? You know his examples don't affect the reality that it rarely happens.Alex JUST did it.
Elijah Williams.Prove it @Swamp Donkey. Show me where the guys are that are switching positions and going to the NFL. And I don't mean Freshmen changing positions, but established upperclassmen.
Cleveland is our clear cut #2 receiver. No reason at all to move him to safety
I'm not the type to get nailed to an opinion. IMO, my greatest gift is that I take to reproach well. You just haven't adequately convinced me of your stance. I don't get emotional about this. I enjoy exchanging dialogue with people that have different views than I do. It's how I increase my wisdom.I'm done here. You're just being stubborn about you position and that won't change with 1000 ex. Alex was smart enough to say that way earlier than me.

beat me to it.............Eli Williams, who made the move from RB to CB (while still in college). But, to the point, it's very rare....and at this point he's still a valuable WR on this team.
