The Packers have it right.

The Packers' situation is indeed unique.

The Packers are ingrained in Green Bay and Wisconsin. In fact, they have one of the largest followings in the nation. The fans are nuts and if the Pack went 0-16 year in and year out they still would sell out Lambeau. The waiting list for season tickets is in the tens of thousands. People leave season tickets in their will. It truly is a family and community affair.

The Jags are an investment to Khan, just like most other owners. I miss the old days when the owners cared about their teams. My Dolphins are in the same boat - owned by a real estate fool that looks like he never was picked for a team in any sport or grade. Still, there's no financial incentive to leave nor would it be approved by the owners.

Disagree, they'll find a way. 2022 will be their first year there.

Sorry man.

You do realize that, as of today, the FA Council doesn't have the votes to approve the sale to Khan? They see him as an outsider and don't like him. Maybe that changes by Oct. 24. I doubt it.

It's more than that - the team is owned by the people of Green Bay. It would be almost impossible to sell/move them.

Yes sir. I am a Wisconsin native and grew up near Green Bay. You can see the stadium from my sister's house actually. The Packers are Green Bay. But, a few years ago you could actually buy stock in the Packers although it didn't really mean much except voting rights.

I live in Jax and I was caught off guard by this news yesterday. Admittedly, I don't watch much NFL, but I believe there's some smoke to this. Jags fans were very skeptical of this when Khan originally purchased the team. Then he went on to purchase Fulham FC and the writing was on the wall. Khan, then came out and publicly stated that he had no intentions to ever move the Jags. He said he wanted to invest in Jacksonville and bring a winner to Northeast Florida.
However, I never believed him. I don't think he ever intended to keep the Jags in Jax. Now, they may stay, but that would be more of a function of the league or some outside factor convincing or forcing his hand. I could be wrong, though.

This may be UnAmerican, but I think sports owners should face different rules. That team belongs to Jacksonville. The city worked for decades to get a team. Thousands of people invested time and effort. Taxpayers and tens of thousands of fans have invested a generation into them. One selfish dude should not be allowed to ruin it.

Seattle Sonics fans agree.

Suggested name for the new London team.

Bridge is Falling Down.

Locals can call them BFD for short.

Apparently NFL ratings have experienced a bit of a rebound so far this season.

Like the Cleveland Browns, NFL ratings are beating expectations

Not to mention that the decline in ratings for the NFL in a vacuum look bad 8%, 9.7% the last two years. But when you take into account the decline in TV viewing over all, most all of Television networks saw a drop of double digits on average last year. That doesn't include the increase in viewship of the NFL owned Redzone network. 37 of the top 50 televised events and shows for 2017 were NFL games.

Since you're a Jags fan, I can understand your reluctance to accept the inevitable.

Why do you think they've been playing a game or two in London for several years now? There IS a financial incentive, that's the entire reason they've headed down that path. They think they can make the NFL an international sport so they can make more billions.

They need 24 out of 32 owners to approve and I absolutely think they could get that if they could show those billionaires that they can make more money.

Do you have enough self awareness to realize that the catchphrase under your name (defender of freedom) and getting whiny about players kneeling are polar opposites?

Just curious.

They are free to kneel.

He is free to feel the way he does.

Freedom goes both ways.

He needs to wait until SpaceX has the BFR in service. Travel time at under 3 hours.

It has nothing to do with acceptance. I don't think they'll sell Wembley to him. Even if they do, if Chelsea is denied being able to play at Wembley because of the new NFL franchise in London? Knan would effectively be slitting his own throat. Talk about pissing people off. lol. Plus, the NFL has already said that London couldn't support an NFL franchise. Certainly not by 2022. Attendance for the games is great, but no one watches on TV. It was voted the 2nd most boring sport to watch behind golf. In truth, its tv ratings, as bad as they are, are dropping fast.

Calling it un-American seems to go against the belief that they are free to do so. Exercising ones rights is about as American as it gets. It just seems nowadays that people only support things like free speech when it's speech that they agree with.

I disagree. He didn't say they didn't have the right to do it. He didn't like it. And he acted on his dislike.

They have the right to kneel. I have to right to cancel the NFL Ticket and stop watching over it.

Using the term 'anti American' certainly implies that he thinks that they don't have the right to do so. Maybe you read it differently, but it definitely smacks of 'love it or leave it'.

You want to know what team will be moving soon? The chargers. They are at home to a sellout crowd of 25k. 80-90% of the fans there are for the chiefs, not the chargers. They are a huge embarrassment. If any team is moving to London, it'd be this one.
