It wouldn’t make any sense to play all eight games in London while basing the team in Jacksonville, but one option that could make sense is playing four home games a year at Wembley Stadium and the other four in Jacksonville, while keeping the team facility in Florida. That would allow him to keep his word to remain in Jacksonville while also maximizing his revenue, as the Jaguars reportedly make more money for the games they play in London than for the games they play in Jacksonville.
More wishful thinking by maheo.
Sorry man. It's over.
It will be such a failed experiment.
They will have to over come the salary cap issue, because of 1) cost of living and 2) likely income taxes. I believe you still report foreign income on US taxes. Not sure of the particulars, but my best guess would be they would have an increased tax liability. Also, would visiting teams be subject to English tax burdens? Remember how Orlando tried to lure free agents because of no State income tax.
There would be 9 teams affected by travel. The Jags and their 8 visiting opponents. This would create not only travel discrepancies within the League, but also time differentials.
Who is going to want to play for them? What big name player is going to want to live there? Would any conservative players want to live there? Why would anyone want to go from being a star in the US to an afterthought in England?

the nfl has been trying to expand the fan base for years. That’s why they play in Mexico and London, not to plant teams there. Why do you think they've been playing a game or two in London for several years now? There IS a financial incentive, that's the entire reason they've headed down that path. They think they can make the NFL an international sport so they can make more billions.
They need 24 out of 32 owners to approve and I absolutely think they could get that if they could show those billionaires that they can make more money.
Uh oh it's getting deep now!
Report: Khan exploring tax implications of playing in London, basing team in Jacksonville
I guess you had better tell Khan that.the nfl has been trying to expand the fan base for years. That’s why they play in Mexico and London, not to plant teams there.
OkBy the way, the kneeling debate ends here. Any more comments about it get deleted.
It IS being tried by doing a game a year there. That was the beginning. Soon it will be 2 games there, then 4, etc.Discussions maybe, but there's a reason it's never been tried all these years, unless you count the NFL's World League, which was a failure. With the reason being, football is a complicated game. I mean no offense to foreigners when I say this, but foreigners are dumb. If they had any sense they'd move to America.
Of course it won't work. However, greed is the most powerful emotion among the NFL brass. If they THINK they can make more money, they are going to give it a shot. And they do.Okay fair enough but I meant tried in the sense of actually trying to base an NFL team over there. It'll never work in London. Those Eurotards think the extra point kick is the most exciting thing that happens in the whole game. If they were going to put a team in a foreign city, I'd think Mexico City would be a more sensible choice. At least they have nachos.
However, greed is the most powerful emotion among the NFL brass.
While that's true, it amazes me how billionaires think. Already with more money than they could ever spend, they remain locked on a quest to make more, even if it means stepping all over people.Anyone who runs their business with some alternative altruistic primary objective, doesn't have the $2billion it takes to own a team.
