Our boys went and fought and died when called, barely fielded a team in 1942 and didn't field one in 1943.

Meanwhile, 1 of the 2 nattys that UGA claims and still brags about to this day was in 1942, won literally on the lives of their opponents thanks to draft deferments.

Never ever forget this fact Gator fans, and remind those UGA sons of bitches about it whenever possible...

Florida–Georgia football rivalry - Wikipedia

1942: 75 and oh![edit]
Having lost most upper-class players to service in World War II, the 1942 Florida Gators brought an inexperienced 3-4 squad into Jacksonville for the 1942 contest with Georgia.[9][10][32] The Bulldogs, on the other hand, still had many veteran players thanks to the draft deferments of the players who were enrolled in the University of Georgia's ROTC program, and brought a 7-0 record and No. 1 ranking to Jacksonville.[32]

Georgia halfback Charley Trippi and Heisman Trophy-winning back Frank Sinkwich combined to score seven touchdowns as Georgia crushed Florida 75-0, the largest margin in series history.[9][10][33] The Bulldogs finished the regular season 10–1, won the Southeastern Conference championship, defeated the UCLA Bruins 9-0 in the Rose Bowl, and were named national champions by multiple polls and ratings services.[34][35] Meanwhile, the depleted Gators[36] did not win another game during the 1942 season, and with even more players joining the war effort afterward, would not field a team at all in 1943.[9][10][37]

Well, all things considered... since they would have been coming from GA, the US military was probably better off without them.

I don’t disagree with the reasons as they are clear.

But can I make one suggestion?

Postpone this. It isn’t uga week. This garbage program doesn’t deserve two weeks of our attention. We’re 6-1, playing above our heads and have a promising future. Midnight next Sunday, I assure you, you won’t find anyone more averse to the bulldogs.

Why postpone it? Infinity is a large number. In fact it isn't really a number at all. But there are, and I have, an infinite number of reasons to hate the Leg Humpers. Two weeks isn't enough to get them all in this thread.

It's not too early for this right?

Heading into the season, most probably had this game marked as a loss.
UF has a new coaching staff, Georgia sucks was stacking up 5*s.
Everything mounting against us.

But my how things have changed.
LSU, a team we just worked, simply romped Georgia sucks.

I believe this coaching staff is smart enough to game plan this matchup in our favor. Our boys just need to get out there and make it happen.

What a massive game this has become this year. I'm pretty fcking excited about it!

My Gator DNA does not allow me to postpone UGA hate. 24/7 365 days a year it needs to be addressed in any form at my disposal. Talking about it whether we are 6-1 or 0-6 or whatever is a must. UGA is a team that no matter how many points you score on them it is never enough. Even when SOS hung "half a hundred" on them in their own backyard it was still unsatisfying even though I deliriously happy afterwards. I still wanted more. So yes, bring on this thread and let the rival bloodletting begin.

And come on UGA. Bring it. We'll be waiting.

Go Gators.

1:35 remaining, 6-1 Florida leading second-ranked Georgia 21-20 after a Gator punt downed on the Dwags' eight yard line.

I can tell you what I was thinking as I sat in a SE Gainesville living room watching with a roommate. I was thinking here comes one of the great upsets or my lifetime, IT'S GREAT TO BE A PHUCKING FLORIDA GATOR.

What happened next left both of us with our jaws on the floor. I literally felt sick.

Oh, phuck you back. You were maybe 10 years old. I suffered a whole lot more emotionally.

I'm providing necessary historical perspective.

Lol, but do you remember the buildup to the game? G'ville was all abuzz over the oh-10-1ers heading into Jax with a chance to knock off UGA and this crazy good freshman running back.

I don't recall a Cocktail Party as hyped. This one may surpass it.

If we come out as sloppy and flat as we were until the sideline incident vs Vandy UGA will put this game out of reach quickly.

Dan better have that offense ready to light it up because I think UGA is going to spring lots of big plays on Grantham and the boys. They'll likely throw Fields at us A LOT more than they have in previous games.

We have to play our best game of the year so far to overcome the matchups they're gonna come at us with.

This is the SEC race for both teams. Gonna be wild.

I've always been intrigued by that. The year before the Gators had not won ONE game. And it took UGA to win it with under two minutes left with Scott's TD and Peace's int? I was one year out UF after that horrible 0-10-1 season. I really didn't expect much out of the Gators for at least another year. Yeah, I was pissed with Scott's heartbreaking run and Peace's int. I have been distraught about it whenever it comes up. But for god's sake I always remind UGA assh**** we were winless the year before. You didn't climb a mountain for that one dudes. You beat up the kid smaller than you with a lucky punch and you act like you won the national championship. Whatever.

What Meyer did from 2005-2008 was remarkable, but until now the two greatest one-year UF turnaround stories IMO were 1980 and 1990. Mullen has a chance to join that group.
